Yes you can, www.worldofwarcraft.com and download the trial and im pretty sure you can go on and continue it... goto your account and im almost certain there would  be an option.

Sorry, but as far as I know there is no way to purchase a key online, not even through Blizzard.  You can purchase a copy of the game online, but you'll have to wait till you get the game to find the key inside.

However if you have already decided to purchase the game, why not purchase the game online and while you're waiting for it to arrive, simply download and install the free 10 day trial.  When the game arrives, simply upgrade the account with the key from the box.

The 10 day trial is the same as the full install except for a few small limitations.  You cannot trade items in game with others or put items on the AH and there's a few other limitations I can't seem to remember.  It shouldn't be that big of an issue to have to wait till your online game arrives for that stuff.  When you upgrade your account, all the limitations will be lifted, you will not have to start a new character, you can continue playing the trial one.

Ways around that with pre-paid credit cards, but it isn't the most legal thing to do when claiming residency.

No, you have to buy a physical copy of the game. You cannot continue solely from the trial. The only online download with a key  Blizzard has is for the Burning Crusade expansion. But you have to buy the original game first in order to use it.

If i purchases from the site use credit card, can i get the key at once or get the online?
