Title pretty much says it all. What is going to happen to the raids in Burning Crusade? Are they just going to be left to rot like the Azeroth raids? Although I myself have never done any old world raids besides ZG, I've heard how epic they are and how "every player should get the chance to see Ragnaros rise from the lava".
Now we all know Blizzard is taking some action against this by reworking Naxxramas into a level 80 25-man, but it that all? They said the reason for doing this is because they released it only six months before BC and very few players saw it. Ok, so, assuming Wrath comes out this holiday season, Sunwell Plateau isn't going to be all that different now will it?
Off the top of my head, I think about 8, yes 8 raid instances will just sit in Outland gathering dust excluding an oldies runs every month or so (although wouldn't there be more vanilla WoW oldy runs?).
The best solution I can think of is heroic raids. There are no raid instances not tied to reputation, so the heroic key system would work. Plus, just think of the opportunities that this can provide for raid guilds: No more sitting in Kara for a year, now you have over 10 things to choose from to raid. Huge incentive to raid.
What do you guys have to think? |

problem is that if they re work the old raids, there will be less resources spent on creating new content for the expansion, and blizzard are cheap :P the only way to really make content not obselete is to not increase the level cap in the expansion, and to make items a little less powerful.Upgrading from t4 to t5 for example could be less of a boost then it currently is.If they do raise the level cap then they could make it so the items in the new expansions dont start out more powerful then anything in previous content. Also they could make raids give good xp.All this combined with making item upgrades not as powerful a boost might do the trick.I'm sure theres many problems with these methods tho, but they are the only way I can think of.

There's no actual code or Engine Changes that would have to be made. Infact they have maintance / patch teams that do stuff like this all the time tha thave nothing to do with the expansion pack. Blizzard just simply doesn't care. So they leaving these areas to 'die'. If they'd of revamped the old areas I probably would of stayed. I'm not big on raid guilds but I'd of atleast liked the chance to see those area even if the loot wouldn't be any where near as cool as the original raid goodies. |

Actually, I think Blizzard made a mistake not re-working the old raid content every expansion, simplifying it so all the players who missed it the first go around would get a chance. Like someone said...everyone really should see Ragnaros rise up out of the lava.... or get a chance to fight the boss of BWL (forgot his name) at least once. Heck, if they didn't really want to rework it all they could have created a 'god-mode' for players to select that would let them roll though the content for no reward, just so they could see it all. Even that would have made many folks happy.

That's one of the things that's bothering me. I finally break down and decide to give WoW a chance, bought the Battle Chest even, and I can't find any teams willing to do dungeons on Azeroth ( unless I'm willing to pay them to "run" me through them, which ain't gonna happen). And waiting to level 58 to be able to quest in Outlands and maybe find a team there that doesn't care that I have no epics because I don't PvP to get welfare epics, and I will not pay someone to run me through for them either. So now it looks like I won't see any of the "big" bosses/encounters in Azeroth, and maybe I'll get to see one or two in Outlands, before WotLK makes those obsolete as well. For a company who supposedly built a game having "learned from EQ and other games mistakes", they are pretty good at copying EQs' knack for abandoning every area that came before the last expansion. Being a new player kinda sucks when you realize you pay the same as everyone else, but don't get to see the same content because you came later. |

If they wanted to see it it's *very* easy to do so with a group of level 70's, soon 80's. The content will be trivial at best. |

There are weekly old-school raid runs on my server, Burning Steppes PvP EU. Check the official realm forums for more info. This is much the same for most servers tbh. I don't see what you guys are complaining about, obviously, the newer more rewarding content is going to be more popular, but the old-school stuff is still done. |

i made it into MC for the second time (first time i DC'd after the first Core hound) and it was the MOST fun i have ever had. we wiped on the first boss but had a blast. we then went to ZG and got up to Hakkar before we were slaughtered.
i for one wish these old instances were revived or at the very least made 5 mans (which i think would not make much sense)

Originally posted by KyleranUgh, that's a bad idea. Some of these instances are easy enough as it is - all it requires is a little time and patience. I'm kind of hoping for harder WoW raids in the coming expansions... what we have now is terrible. With that said, there is no excuse for people not seeing the old raid content. Like an above poster said, a group of 70s can blow through it, and a group of 80s will definitely be able to push through any of the old raid content. People in WoW generally just don't care about seeing things for the experience... they need some type of reward in the form of money or equipment, which I can understand, but those people cannot complain about not seeing something if they don't put the effort in. |
