At this years Game Developers Conference, we were able to get some time with Kevin Balentine of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment to show us the latest progress in Stargate Worlds. Today we share with you the exclusive concept art they gave us.

Um.  You need to fix the text in the news post.  It says that this is a screenshot.  When quite clearly.. it is concept art.

well i guess if this was shown from a computer it "could" be defined of a screenshot taken from a exclusive piece of concept art...but nonetheless i really look forward to seeing what this progresses too.

Or SGW has changed its design and gone with a more cartoony "WoW" look ;)...

Freedom is the will to be responsible to ourselves.

Nice concept art, but sorry i don't see anything i would say makes me think it's from Stargate.

If the titel would have been a screenshot from Jade Empire online i would have beleived it abit more. I am not saying this screenshot is NOT from SGW, cause it obviously is a screenshot/concept art for SG, but for me it just doesn't show anything i recall or shows it being something i expect from Stargate.

What do you mean?  That's quite obviously the temple that they went to when Daniel Jackson and the kid (his son if I recall correctly) and all that spiritual stuff happened... ya....

Sorry it's been a few years since I saw that episode.. but it looks like the same temple.

:P

What i kinda meant to say was that looking at the conceptart/screenshot to me it looks more like a Asian sort of temple, where as far .....I..recall...SG looks more Greek/Egyptian like when you see temples.

The following screenshots/concept art is what i mean which indeed........ to me..... reminds me of Stargate.

not everything in Stargate is supposed to be egyptian...if you dont remember...their main mission is to seek out new civilization on far away galaxies whether they were hostile or not. Basically the only race that resembled Egypt was the Jaffa, The Ori (and priors) resembled more of a druidic cult, replicators were machines. So that concept art is very much stargate and makes me even more excited if it means meeting another new race. And yes...i do believe that was the same temple Jackson and his son went too.

Boredom is in the temperament of the beholder.

According to Stargate lore, humans were taken from many different places on Earth and seeded on other planets. Or was Earth one of the planets they were seeded onto? I don't remember specifically. But it is a certainty that there are many different cultural and architectural styles present in the Stargate universe. The Egyptians and Greeks just happened to have a lot of gods the Goa'uld could imitate and use to influence the human populations.

Life was created by that machine on the jaffa home?world (at least their most holy place).

But most of the human cultures living out the galaxy was taken from Earth.
