I like Pirate games.

Does anybody know of a completely free video converter? I need to convert some of my MPG's to AVI's, but so far I have only found trial versions of the converters. Any help is much appreciated!

why do humans build, because it isn''t there

VLC plays most video types(have yet to come across an issue video), and allows you to resave them in most cases.

edit:  no install just a simple executable, I keep a copy on my flash drive.

"super" can convert pretty much anything into anything. Pretty easy to use, can drag-and-drop files. Really good for quick-and-dirty conversions for putting on an ipod or something, although I can't recommend it if converting for archive quality. It just doesn't have the options and can have a mind of its own on what it thinks a good quality/bitrate setting is.
