WAR (Warhammer Online)

As dev's have already stated GEAR will have a large enough impact in PvP that well GEARED and higher level players will always WIN;

- With that said:

- Game WILL NOT be a PvP system where knowledge and skill will make the difference, instead the "i win" button will be GEAR and Level!

-- Gear will have level restrictions

--- Level restrictions on gear will mean "must attain level X in order to use Item Y"

---- Which will start level grinding in order to use GEAR before you PvP since the well geared players will have a 40% edge on those that do not, and thats all being equal not considering level differences

----- Which again will mean, leve grinding in order to be highest level possible in order to use GEAR and PvP

So most likely most players will spend large amounts of time trying to acheive the highest level possible in order to use the better level restricted GEAR, and THEN they will start to "FARM" for the better items via RAIDS.

About the only good thing i see from WAR is just another avenue for FARMING companys to make money by providing power leveling services as well as monetary.

I am gonna say he does not like to get GEAR in MMOs. But thats just a guess.

ZOMG!!!!   You mean having better equipment and more skills will actually give you an advantage in combat!!!  NO WAY!!!  Man, what a lame game this is going to be - so I'm not going to be able to jump in the game and instantly be UUBER with my starter sword and paper armour, I'll have to actually earn my skills and equipment before I can win at combat.  LAME!!!

I hear Toon Town Online is fun, that might be more your speed methinks.....

If im so wrong answer me this:

Will the game require a min level in order to use an item?

Will the game require a min level in order to group AND not penalize the new player? i.e. can a brand new level 1 group with a friend thats max level and still GAIN normal exp?

Will levels play a factor in PvP? i.e. can a level 10 beat a level 40?

...i can go on and on, but for now ill stop here.

Ok to say a lvl 10 can beat a lvl 40 and it sounds like you re saying it should be able to is flat out stupid. Why should a lvl 10 win. As far as gear goes wtf do you think. A level 40 item is worn by a level 40 char what else you want. I have never seen someone complain about such little things before. You should maybe quit MMO s all together if these things bother you.

You seriously think a level 10 should stand a chance against a level 40 huh?

Yeah, go back to your dream land.

Of course gear matters, the degree it matters in DAoC is light years different than how it matters in WoW. If they use the same scales DAoC did pre-ToA, which I believe is their goal, then I'll be happy.

If you want a skill based game with no concern about "gear" go play a FPS. When you do that you'll soon realize that even that game is no so much about skill as it is having a bleeding edge PC and flawless network connection.
