If twinking can be defined as follows...

Attempting to build a character that is perceived by it's creator to be optimal in terms of attributes, abilities and skills at it's given level.

...then I dont see anything wrong with it, providing it does not significantly unbalanced certain areas of the game to the detriment of other players.

Twinking as I am familiar with it is primarily based around PvP but even if you are able to make some form of PvE twink in certain games, it shouldn't threaten the balance of that game if managed properly.

If someone creates a twink that can run a whole instance solo, I don;t really care as long as I'm not affected. Perhaps certain low-level items will sky-rocket in value, but I'll either get them myself or simply level until they are of no consequence to me anyway.

If someone creates a twink that has extremely well-tuned PvP kit and rapes me in an arena, I don't really care so long as the option to build a smiliar character was equally available to me and skill played a greater part than items.

My only xp of twinking is from WoW where I think there are issues with twinks: kit has too much of an impact over skill and many twink items aren't attainable unless you have a high-level main. This doesn't stop me from twinking, but does spoil BGs a bit for those who aren't/can't twink.

If Blizzard made it possible to twink but reduce the advantage and cost of end result, BGs would be fantastic and the playing field a lot more level. If Funcom takes note and makes twinking available but better managed in AoC, they have a winner for gamers like myself.

I love how all of you are arguing over game mechanics you have NO idea about since the game ISNT EVEN OUT YET AND YOUVE NOT EVEN PLAYED IT.

And how in the world are you not affected if those same people bring those SAME TWINKS THAT CAN SOLO INSTANCES into the PVP battles?...

If they can solo Elite bosses what in the hell do you think they will do to you and your friends?

God I can't wait untill someone makes a game where you "easy mode" scrubs  cant twink your way into hiding the fact that you suck.  Then agian noone will probably play that game for the above reason.

FYI most twink have a main. they arn't putting on easy mode just to piss you off. idk why you call it easy mode. yes its easier in the sense everyone can have a fair chance i.e. a 29 with good gear is a lot easier than a 60 with good gear. its a lot more practical to make a twink if you prefer the challenge. we arn't there to kill the lesser equipped opponents. we are there to fight the other twinks

is it the same thing if you cap out at say 60 and another 60 comes along with uber gear and massive enchants and destroys you? thats easy mode he has an unfair advantage.

i am sorry but i still dont see any place in this game for twinking pre 70.

i dont see any dungeons pre 40 and the game is solo til 20.

where the hell does twinking come into this game?

p.s i dont consider it twinking if its 1-20 levels below max level because u have already practically played the whole game again (aside from endgame).

i guess tinybina is talking about PvE twinking. which in WoW isn't a factor. considering when you kill lthings you get XP which means leveling. which is against the PvP twinking idea.

either there is a huge misconception here or they are just an idiot.
