Is there any stealth classes in the Warhammer lore? I never followed it so can't comment, but it would give us an idea of how it might be implemented.

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

IF they bring some stealth in the game...

It would only work vs PvE mobs, not players.  Stealth is extremely interesting in PvE, not necessarily for a class and not as a permanent ability necessarily, but it is FUN to be stealth in PvE (and maybe some mobs see throught it...hehehe)

Don't expect stealth for PvP.

(That is a big IF, I am not sure they care enought about PvE to bring some stealth for PvE...but who know?)

If you mean as a rogue in EQ or a stalker in CoV, no.

But 1 of the main magic school is focused on illusions, and invisibility (spell) is there in quite many variants.  I have no idea if there will be any illusion spells, or illusionists.

But my guess would be that illusionists would be linked to PvE stuff, and all the benefits they give to players (buffs), only in PvE....  IF, it ever make it.

It is easy to justify it is NPC only however, as magic is not that spreaded in the Warhammer world (not rare, but not that spread either, witch hunting is a comon practice in some areas)...so 1 school been barred to players, not hard at all to justify.

I hate stealth.  People should not be able to disappear while standing in the middle of a giant open field.  But I've accepted the fact that it is a common occurrence in mmo's, and have accepted it, even played a couple classes with stealth.

But, based on my knowledge of Warhammer lore (which is limited to tabletop and the requisite army books), the only characters with any kind of stealth were assassins (who just did in groups of normal troops and popped out to attack leaders, and were then visible for rest of fight) and certain recon/scout type classes who were deployed closer to enemy armies without opponent's knowledge, but were visible as soon as fight started and stayed that way.

I would prefer to not see stealth in this game, but whether it's in or not will not deter me from playing this game, and subsequently falling in love with it or despising it for all eternity.

If stealth is in (which I do not believe it is - at least not in the way people are assuming) then it will most likely work identically for both PvP and PvE.  They are trying to keep the two as seamless as possible so I don't see them invoking differing mechanics between the two.  There really is no need.

As for the 'The man who brought you stealth' comment that is now missing - they could simply be referring to the way WAR implements stealth and the guy who came up with it (such as not showing up on radar as has been theorized).  There is no reason stealth has to equal invisible.

An invisibility spell cast on you inside a PvE instance by a NPC?

Need I extrapolate more?

You lose the buff if you exit the instance, you can only get it inside the instance.  Then you have stealth for an instance in PvE (or many/all instances), and not for PvP.  An object which emulate Stealth but only when it is close to *insert whatever artefact you want*, this happens to be in a PvE surrounding only...

The examples and ways to put stealth in PvE without affecting PvP are...quite numerous.

I am not saying it will happen or not.  I am just saying that it may happen and the devs have never said, anywhere, that such stuff wouldn't happen.  They say there was no playable stealth class because it ruins PvP...or something among these lines. :P
