Well to be honest the game would be pretty bland if it didnt include some form of specialization. We know classes arent skill based, every goblin squigg herder has the exact same skills, they need atleast some way to add customization and uniqueness.

Besides, WoW's Talent system is a copy of D&D's Feat system. MMO's evolve, stop going off on these "zomg they copied" rants...

I'd rather have something new and innovative i'm sick of playing the same game over and over again.

I also recall AO added a perk system before WoW hit the shelf, it works to the same degree as the WoW talent system if a little less complex.

Dark Age of Camelot had a mastery system well before WoW. It was called Specialization though.

Heh, actually I am not that much of a fan.  Would rather play Fallen Earth.  If you know your history, you will also know WoW openly admitted to copying much from WAR, not the other way around.

Do not even bother arguing in this thread. The OP is a forum troll - look at his history in other forums. Just let him have his moment and be happy some people go out of their to show us they are idiots, rather than us having to guess.

Well, let's be fair.

Yes, Warcraft did copy Warhammer's art, style, themes, etc.

However, as Warcraft did copy in the past, Warhammer copies now by importing World of Warcraft's gameplay. There were no Warhammer MMOs before this, and their gameplay so far looks nearly identicle to World of Warcraft's. Ergo, this time, Warhammer is the one following the leader.

You are 100% correct, though, on appearances. I don't think anyone will argue that.

Epic fail as a troll, not to mention his name has reference to Warhammer as well.

Bollocks!

Just another person trying to make up something that isn't true about WAR. This is unbelievable, DAOC DOES IT. ALOT OF GAMES DO IT. Now, enuff said. I just would like to commend you for having the guts to say something that really should'nt have been said. It really is a necessity to have this or else, leveling up would only bring new armor, and stuff like that. Now you have another incentive to level up, getting bigger and better spells. Its not just a "WoW Thing".

Certainly there are elements of several games in WAR, as well as elements of several in WoW.  While not entirely true, there is great validity in the common phrase that originality is dead.  Thus, my not being a "fan" of either game.  Rather save my money for games like Fallen Earth, or even something like Pirates of the Burning Sea.  At least those games are breaking away from the now cliche "clone wars."  Heh, I wonder when someone will make a "Wild West" MMO.

WoW would be so much deeper if you could add stat points yourself.

lol 11 replys in 10 minutes :D GJ.

im just wondering what any game would be like these days if they didnt copy something from a previous title. would be fairly abstract and no one would know what to do lol, at least with a proven track record that wow has, (even tho it ripped off the majority of its predcessors in a fairly large way) i dont see the harm in plagurising good bits from previous titles, if it makes the current game better, yeah innovation is always welcomed but sometimes it is ill recived if it dont hit the mark as it were. take for example the early beta of wow where there was the xp system, if u played too long u ended up with 25% xp gain so u had to rest in an inn for 8 hours to get to 100% again, they soon realised that perticular innovation was wrong and dropped it from the game, so saying "omg how bad can u copy WoW"....theres nothing wrong with that, as wow is the biggest subbing mmo ever, things dont have to be 100% original to be good

A Korean company actually was making an MMORPG called Priest that was based on some Korean comic, I think. It was supposed to be a Western-Horror game and, for its time, looked pretty sweet with a great environment. However, this was several years ago and I think the project died, or at least never made it to North America.

I actually think a Western MMORPG could be fun, though I doubt it would be popular. I'd just spend all day in the saloon.

I cannot argue that. Plus, from what I heard, the PvP sounds like it'll be Dark Age of Camelot. Which makes perfect sense, considering. And I've heard Dark Age's PvP was done well, though I never played that game, and I don't like PvP. For PvPers, this may be a good thing.

Fallen Earth is very interesting. It's unfortunate I haven't heard much about it lately. The only thing I heard that I didn't like was the manual aiming system, but the rest sounds great.
