As I'm posting this there are 30 people on Mordred.

Imo if Mythic opens up a Classic FFA server it will def attract some more people to return. My entire guild alone (aprox 50 members) would all return which is more then who is currently on the entire Mordred server.

Just a thought, what do they have to lose at this point? Opening now before open beta starts on AoC,WAR and DF,etc.. would be smarter then waiting Imo.

Then just leave it at that. There's to many servers for the health of this game. It'll just get worse in time. although I believe Warhammer is going to fail to appealing to DAoC players (look at the graphics.. they make you vomit out your eyes compared to DAoC... pvp isn't even the same either)

Agree 100% . Although it would be tough considering all the different housing issues and naming issues but I think the good outweighs the bad here. It would revitalize the game right before its going to take a huge hit as new MMO's are released. Might help them retain subs.

Have you seen the state of Daoc's FFA servers?? They are the lowest of any server type. 

FFA failed in this game big time, and you thinkt hey are going to open more with war around the corner for release , and for the few thousand left playing???

Andred and Mordred, PRE TOA (which is what classic is pretty much) was one of the greatest PvP experiences ever in any game. Ask anyone who was there. Almost every top PVP (and some PVE) guild was there.

And yes, I have seen the current state of their FFA server, hence the first line in my original post.

Agreed.

Reccoo, the FFA servers was the most popular until all the TOA crap. Mythic destroyed their game and then they lost their best community rep. It's all down hill from there.

Warhammer will fail and it'll all blow back into their face. Sad, but true.

As we speak WOW is designing an expansion with the same features Warhammer expects to present. I just don't think Warhammer is going to give enough insentive for people to quit their 2 year old characters and give up all they played their butts off for a game that is nothing but hype. So in short, I think Mythic is on their last string and should do whatever they can to ressurrect DAoC. If it's to throw a way an expansions worth of material or redesign an expansion entirely then do it. The artifacts ruined the game. Fix? Remove them entirely. To many realm abilities that are OP ruined the game. Fix? REMOVE THEM ENTIRELY. A monkey can think up of ways to fix this, but Mythic can't. Instead they do the same bullcrap other companies have been pulling for years and "go with it" yes it's hard to throw away work, but you what you need to keep your customers happy! The game wouldn't be caught with less then 100k players everyday, but after the lame expansions the game drops to 5k total.. WOW.. I WONDER WHAT WENT WRONG? Hmm... Then they end up losing the best community voice they EVER will have. I've lost my faith in Mythic and to some of you who still believe in them.. well you can take more of a beating then I can.

Anyway,

Best PVP MMO = DAoC = Ruined

Best Sandbox MMO = SWG = Ruined

Best Raid MMO = EQ1 = Ruined

Best Hybrid MMO = WoW = Stable

Best PvE MMO = EQ2 = Stable

Companies look at exactly this and think it's the type of game that's the problem. IT'S NOT! IT'S THE WANNABE COMPANIES THAT RUIN THE GAME. Do it right or don't do it all. You wannabe companies are RUINING the genre! GET LOST! NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR  "Vision".
