I was an open and closed beta player to this game. Also, played for a few months after release then quit after getting a champion and burglar to 50 (also got GM weaponsmith and GM metalsmith in that time) After I quit I played games like EQ2, WoW, and GW again. EQ2 is just too big and too much for a new player to dive into if you haven't been playing it before. WoW is just sad with there terrible communtiy and it seems a bit out dated. I haven't liked GW as much since they introduced hero's. Nobody groups any more for missions. Everyone runs around with 3 heros ad 4 henchman most of the time. So, I decided to try LOTRO again and roll a class I never tried before. I'm loving it! They have made some nice additions since I left as well. Great population on the Landroval server also. Very easy to group for every quest so far (I'm up to level 35). Best graphics out there other than maybe Vanguard. Plus it's only $10 per month to play right now. Also, it's only $10 to purchase the complete game from gamestop....very affordable =) This game will really get me by these next 6 months or so until the release of WarHammer Online. So if anyone needs a great game to get them through these months until the new '08 games come out, then I highly recommend LOTRO. |

I think that Turbine's marketing worked almost too well for the holidays... my server seems packed every time I get online as well (Elendilmir). It's a great time to start a new alt, or to begin fresh... as the intro areas are all full of players.
