Putting Heavy Assault launchers on a Drake is pointless as it gets no range bonus for the missiles so can't engage very far out. It's too slow, even with a MWD for the type of role you're trying to fill with that setup. Fit T2 heavy launchers and you can fit both a better tank and an equivalent gank and be able to engage from much further out. |

Fleet setup Drake that I use: Large Shield Extender II Heavy Missile Launcher II Core Defence Field Purger I
Allows you to engage at any range from 0 out to over 70km This setup also works well for missions and isn't very different from the one listed above except that it's an omni-tank tbh. The nice thing about using Heavy Launcher II's is you can load up precision missiles and shred smaller ships with them. Another option is a Passive regen drake that uses Sensor Damps instead of the hardeners in the mids for small gang warfare. Have played with that a few times with mixed success. It's a nice surprise to be able to hit a ranged ship trying to snipe you with 3 damps and watch him cry while your interceptors lock him down and the fleet closes and pummels him. Obviously if your gang has ewar already it's best to fit a tank but if you don't... then this is a nice option to have. |

Power Diagnostic II Large Shield Extender II Heavy Missile Launcher II Core Defence Field Purge I x5 Warrior I Would be great to have some feedback on this set-up. I'm using it now but find I'm to scared to really take it in harms way. I have this Image of being locked down and not having the DPS to do any real damage. With the CDF Purge running at about 15 mil each, the whole set-up would be painfull to lose. I don't really do missions, I just love the way this thing charges the shields. Any advice? |

Tnks, I was thinking the same thing really (about your set-up being a better approach). I might try this one with Tech II drones and see how much boost in DPS I get. I like the set up, I just can see a way to make it useful for anything other than missions. |

With maxed missile skills you should be able to hit at 80k (Missile projection L5 I think), as for the Hardeners, for PvE those can vary per mission rat type |

Any Feedback on this setup? It's a small gang PVP setup. The Idea is to be able to get a lock and put out good DPS and still have strong shields. If they try to run there is not much I can do. The cap will hold for about 10 min with every thing running. Ballistic Control System II Sensor Booster II Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Heavy Missile Core Defence Field Purger I Hobgoblin II x2 Warrior II x3 EM 75 - EX 78 - KN 85 - TH 80 with Invunerability and Damage Control active. |

In PvP i'd use extenders, not purgers. For a pure damagedealer with absolutely no tackling i'd go with one lse, a full rack of launchers, mwd, three bcu and a damagecontrol, and the rest of the meds filled with a targetpainter and resists. |

Drake is one of the best battlecruisers out there, with excellent resists and tank, as well as excellent damage. The fact that so many people underestimate its potential, or assume that it's LOLtank fitted helps with not getting called primary. Drake PVP, 80k EHP buffer tank, 600+ DPS, all mods are t2, appropriate fitting skills at lv5 rigs: 3x core defense field extender (for the buffer) or resist rigs if you're cheap (less tank though) drones: 5xWarrior II, 5x Hobgoblin II, 5x Hornet ECM-300 requires: 3% PG implant (alternatively swap 1 BCU for a power diagnostics for slightly more tank as well but less dps, will give 86k ehp) Setup offers a good buffer tank with good resists, and high amount of dmg, which can be increased by swapping out to rage missiles for larger targets and precisions for smaller ones. Drone selection depends on what you expect to go up against, with ECM drone providing the most versatility and warrior II's to get rid of ceptors and other fast tacklers. Effective in both gang and solo. A similar fit can be done with Heavy missiles Launchers, which in turn give less DPS but more flexibility in terms of range. This fit will require the 3% CPU implant. |
