WAR (Warhammer Online)

The dark elf assasin. And with it stealth.

If you know something about warhammer then you know how awesome these guys are. heres a concept art for one by me.

an mmorpg w/o stealth means no proper rogue class. which means a crippled mmo. warhammer has a great stealth class in the lore already. why leave it out? to keep the game simple it seems.

I think you are going to be in the minority on this one. I'm happy stealth is out. I remember getting one shotted in DAoC by stealthed archers, and it sucked.

WAR is going to be about fun PvP, and it's no fun to get killed without ever seeing who killed you.  You have to realize that an MMORPG isn't exactly like a miniature game, so not everything will translate exactly.

And you should realise just because in a previous game stealth was imbalanced doesn't mean it cannot be balanced. and to alot of people being "about fun pvp" would mean including stealth. its a type of play style, some like it some hate it. same goes for support role or tank etc.

they really should add aleast 1 stealth class , is fun killin people from behind

So, how would you make it "balanced"?

No stealth is a big plus to me. Nothing as stupid as hiding 10' from someone in the middle of a grassy field. Rogue players will just have to let go of the crutches.

Im glad there isnt going to be a stealth class. I hope there isnt any kind of fear either. I dont mind losing a battle in PvP. I do hate losing because I cant control my character. Its cheap.

Last time I checked there isn't any stealth in Warhammer. Some units can "Deep Strike", which puts them in a D6 spot from a unit/character, if it is placed for 100% above a unit the Deep Strike fails and your unit is destroyed and if memory serves me right, you suffer hits when deploying with a template that overlaps a unit.

After deployment, there isn't any steath anymore for the entire combat

Scouts can deploy behind enemy lines and some races have the ability to push forward on the battlefield past normal movement points, effectively deploying them "closer"to the enemy FoV.

So no, stealth isn't in there. Tactics are.

Umm joke thread ? WAR is way better without stealth class,and I dont recall in the lore of ever being a invisible class ,cause that's what your asking for if you want gay rouge (rogue).The closest thing to stealth are kaven wich arent in WAR atm.

Unless some players have insight from thier beta experience, how can we come to the conclusion that WAR without a stealther is a bad thing? I do not believe that some form of invisibility if mandatory for every MMORPG. Everyone keeps posting about players wanting something different....well, this is different. Lets see how it works
