MMORPG Character Monuments ...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest... |

Ive said this in most posts already. but, from a PVE standpoint, WoW is still the best by far (I know, a lot of people hate it...but its still the best by a large margin). PvP its DAOC. Best time Ive ever spent on a MMORPG. IM still mhoping to find another like it. Torrential |

Final Fantasy XI simply for the Auto Translate function. Language barriers make life entertaining and MMOing the most enjoyable pain in the ass. WoW is a lot a fun, but mainly because of the great friends I've made over the years and Chuck Norris. Vanguard was best for histrionic RP queens. Seriously people, I get RP but it doesn't all have to be mysterious or scheming. Just shoot the breeze and let the RP unfold. MUDs for the best experience in gaming, ever.

WoW, it's the most fun and most polished MMO I've ever played.

"MUDs for the best experience in gaming, ever." QFT The only MMO on the horizon that could compare, I think, might be the Vampire game being made by the EVE folk and White Wolf. I have high hopes. |

Mmm... kinda hard question to answer for me, but the most fun I ever had in a MMO was WoW unfortunately. |

Easily early Asheron's Call, especially during the Shadow Wars.
The game jumped the shark long ago, but in it's earlier years was one of the best, true sandbox style MMO's. Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst! |

Everquest: It was buggy and a lot of the classes weren't even functional at release. That seemed to set an industry standard to this day lol. For being the first big MMO and capturing my curiousity and not letting it go til EQ2 came out. It was my first and only addiction and since quitting; no game has captured this jaded gamers eye since. And I've tried them all. None can recapture that fear of Sand Giants and Lockjaw I felt killing caimans in Oasis. Don't get me started on Sgt. Slate, spectres & griffons. None can recapture that glory when I got my first set of rubicite, demon claw and the completion of epic 1.0 and all the other plane dropped armor.
Oddly enough I think the majority of the more experienced gamers who played Muds and EQ1 feel the same way. Were all completely jaded. Been there done that. Even the supposed 'big' new releases that I am testing just don't cut it. And I am testing a lot of em. Everyones doing WoW cookie cutter with slight variations just to grab everyone who doesnt fall into my category. We either settle and commit or quit after a few months. Its a shame really.

I have to say, EverQuest was the one that really got me. Ultima Online was awesome, I was a master fisherman! And that was cool. Asheron's Call was sweet as hell too. Earth and Beyond I loved...
Those are probably my MOST favorite.
EQ2 gets an honorable mention as does Vanguard believe it or not.
I bash the SWG Vets a ton here, but I am one also, and pre-NGE, I am not sure any game but original UO could hold a candle to it in terms of the freedom we had.
Now after that last sentence I just earned my very own Donkey Award.... That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

pre-CU SWG Also WoW is also pretty good. It has the smoothest character movement and animations of any MMO I have ever seen. |

Pre-Trammel Ultima Online. Best game ever, period. If they ever rolled back the ruleset to that time then Ultima would see a boom of subscribers. I don't know why EA is so stupid and just doesn't do it. I would pay for some sort of lifetime subscription if that is what it took. I would pay $200 up front for them to have to server up for life. I am desperate for what I consider to be the best ever... EA, just fucking make it already! -------------------------------- |

Though my most memorable moments come from early days of Wow

For me that was Earth & Beyond..
Never had so much fun playing an mmo, the community was awesome, and it was the only mmo where its storyline was so interesting (in my opinion). |
