Just have one question, really, since most of my others have been answered here or elsewhere. How are the weapons? Is there a good bit of variety? Do they look cool? Are they awe-inspiring when you fire them? I'm just thinking back to games like Unreal, UT, Quake... the weapons were impressive. Are they as impressive here or not so much? Thanks in advance! |

Originally posted by phluux How are the weapons? How does kick arse grab ya? Seriously multiple weapons and right now I have seen the following layout. Damage types I have seen so far: Physical, EM, Laser, Sonic For each damage type there are: pistols, rifles, shotguns, chainguns, rocket launchers...so that is a fair few there. Next you can find recipes that upgrade your weapons so you can get some nice buffs. Even if you have an EM rifle you can get different quality levels of EM rifles. Then there are the specialist weapons like leech gun and many others. Graghics...Sh1T hot! They have nice skins, pretty hefty but still serious looking and when you reload some such as the rocket launcher its rather cool. BTW each weapon has a melee damage number which shows how much you do when you rifle butt a creature. They spent a lot of time on combat in this game and weapons certainly got looked after! BTW you can equip 6 and flick between them by pushing Q. Hope this helps C |

Originally posted by chryses Love indeed how the rocket drops out of your backback/ammo holder at your back and you catch it with your hand it to input your launcher We can't afcourse compare the graphics with lets say Vanguard as it's a totlay different type of game or with single player games, as i sometimes feel some people try to compare it to games like Crysis or Halflife. I look for consistency of graphics and TR has that. |

There are the following DMG Types: Fire, Ice, Snic, Virrulent, Physica, Electricity, EMP
Each dmg type has an uniq "effect". They all have "finishing moves" like a big explosion from fire guns, or freezing and fall into 1000 parts from ice. Cause you need weapons for different range with different dmg-type the most players have many weapons on them. (me have 8)
For me the weapons look REALLY cool.

Originally posted by Reklaw Regarding the overall graghics (including weapons) I couldn't agree more. I played Vanguard and I thought it was a gorgeous game on the right rig. However I think TR's avatars and creatures even more detailed. If you want to focus on scenary then its probably not as detailed but it works as a whole a lot better than Vanguard. I still can't believe I am fighting alongside NPC's and mistake them for real players until I move my cursor over them. Nice touch. BTW using a cannon from a ridge and firing into a group of Bane and seeing them all getting hit is just sooo much fun! |

Ya weapons look and fire very cool, especially the reloading. I just with there were a few more varieties of skins for them, which I'm sure there will be in the future. Leech guns are my favorite looking to fire. |

im thinking about buying this game also, the video looks sweet and by what all you say it looks cool. I have a friend from work that plays it also and how is the class or skill or leveling up system, he said sort of like SWG well the old SWG but not really, is that true and how is the crafting? |

Originally posted by bedolla3401 I love the skill system because it is different. Basically there are 4 levels and 8 end professions. Grenadier, Guardian, Sniper, Spy, Demolitionist, Engineer, Medic, Exobiologist. At level 5, 15, 30 you decide on the path you take. However its not that straight forward. At each level there are multiple skills (approximately 6) with each being able to train up to level 5. To access 90% of these skills you need to collect 'Logos' symbols around the world. So you can be the right level but still not able to use that skill. The best thing is you dont have to train all your skills. In fact its so tough deciding on what to do because you only get 2 skill points to spend per level. E.g. I have trained hand-2-hand up to level 4 giving big damage bonus and then another skill called Rushing Blow that lets me fly at an enemy from 20 metres and smack em. So my combo is 'Rushing Blow' smack em hard then use my H2H to really hurt em. (As well as my damage attack that gives 40% increase to all damage).... In short even if two players are Snipers or Guardians they may have completely different skills and use them differently.
Crafting has 3 parts. 1 - mod your item with buffs using parts. 2 - dismantle items to use parts for modding 3-...not sure. It needs a skill but its not overly complicated. I like it because the game is fast paced and crafting fits into the style. I dont want a Vanguard system where you craft for hours to make the next level bow. Hope this helps |

lies lies lies lies lies lies. the guns in this game are puny and pathetic compared to unreal!! just wait for unreal if you want that kind of bedlam. are they (nc suck) paying that mod to delete posts that confirm this games suck factor?? stop blowing smoke up peoples poo holes! the action in this game is nowhere near as hectic as any of the games listed by the OP, and the weps dont even hold a candle to starwars much less the god of FPS that is UNREAL! |

Originally posted by megaflux Wow, ignorance at its best. Next time simply "I love Unreal and all other games suck" and save yourself a ton of typing.
No, the guns are as big and flashy but EVERYTHING in Unreal was designed to be that way. This game borders on a bit more of realism than unreal did. It is fun nonetheless and just simply throw the above post into the waste basket and compare it to the post of the intelligent people who have responded and decide which one make more sense and is a bit more objective. The game is fun and to me, the action is more fun than anything I ever experienced in the Unreal days. |
