Age of Conan

The December issue of Playboy hit the streets today featuring the dirty bunny's 4th annual tribute to the hottest video game vixens.  'Playing Rough' features images made by the game developers and includes:

• “Keaira” from Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
• “Church & Black” from Clive Barker’s Jericho
• “Morenn” from The Witcher
• “Yoko Retomoto” from Kane & Lynch (pictured above)
• “A’Kanna” from Conan
• “Sarah Morrison” from Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa

A month ago, Funcom employee mentioned a Playboy article covering Age of Conan was slated, and it seems it has finally arrived. The only question is: Will we get to see Conan in the buff as well?

Sex and Violence is the entire basis of the Conan world. Thats why we have like 10 threads already in this section and an MMOWTF "bewbs" column by Dan Fortier digging at AoC. With the way Funcom are going about marketing the game I think they have their campaign going ok, so far for me its with in reason. If they didn't want that kind of publicity they wouldn't have made this picture to start off with.

Having the spot in Playboy is a stroke of marketing genius. It's an excellent target market. We're not talking Maxim college kids who can barely scrape up beer money, either. Playboy's target audiience tends to be in their late 20's to early 40's, fairly well educated & sophisticated compared to Joe Sixpack, with a good amount of $$ for spending on toys. - Not that I have a need to buy the magazine myself!

But this isn't just about AoC as you can see from other games listed above. I suppose most people are aware of that hellgate london did the same thing. (was also featured in playboy) >

So we have E.A. Flagship Studios , NCsoft, FC, Destination Games,  to name a few companies doing the same thing.

I guess if your not familar with the lore this might come as a bit of a shock. But to honest its more "right" for AoC's Lore than any of the games listed above.

Thanks for the pics and heads up.  For the record, Skullcrusher should have submitted some of his poser fan art.  His work is much better than the picture from HellgateGuru.  IMHO

No no, its good for the...ehh.......game mechanics to see screenshots in different .......eumm.....lightning...and.......polygons.......breast.....i mean graphics..things.

The .. whatever it is .. she is wearing around her neck just looks uncomfortable.  What I want to know is will players have control over their makeup in AoC?  They had that in SW:G, it was a lot of fun. 

The whole "smoldering eyes" thing is nice and all, but if it's "pick from 5 smoldering eyes and 10 faces" then for all the care they have taken with this image (which I take to be concept art) it will still end up being WoW without a shirt on.

Yes its concept CGI art. Alot of character customization in AoC is Slider based rather than set pick body types. Lots of control over appearance.
