Each week, MMORPG.com writer Joe Iuliani gives us his thoughts on what's going on in WoW. Recently, he's been examining some of the things that keep players entertained in-game even after years of playing. This week, he looks at seasonal questing.

I know most of the readers out there are aware of the seasonal quests, and I know that most folks will think this is beneath MMORPG’s quality of content. With that out of the way, I still think that the seasonal quests deserve special attention.

Amongst the leveling of characters, raiding high level instances and PvPing there are the understated and often times taken for granted seasonal quests. Too many times players are in a rush to level up and get gear that they overlook the content of the game. The seasonal quests in WoW are a testament to Blizzard’s commitment to keeping this game fun. These quests are great for folks who want to just log in for a few and have some fun. The higher you move up in WoW, the more it seems like a part-time job rather than a game. Almost every raid takes well over an hour, and depending on what side and what server you are on an Alterac Valley run takes much longer than that. Most importantly, they can be enjoyed by players of all levels.

Read it all here.

Cheers,

Die trying

would be fun if it wasnt for some reason the server im on has like 1400ms every 3-4min and upp to 4000 in between. makes playing not possibly .

Concluded long time ago that this has nothing to do with my connection every single mmorpg and mp game i play works like a charm.

So i suppose its a reason not to play wow and focus on other games

Brewfest can be quite a social event at the right time of day. Especially for the role play servers. I prefer cashing in the Brewfest tickets for the Hat, Shirt and boots instead of grinding away for the personal Ram. I wish you could obtain tickets for Dark Moon Fair in the same manner you can with Brewfest. Using interaction quests instead of handing in various collected or profession made items.

As for the music, it is very well done. If you listen carefully you can hear a goblin yell out "I can't feel my legs! I can't see!". Personally, my favorite still has to be the music of the Dark Moon Fair.

"Life is too short to play nerfed characters"

Seasonal quests are fun and a break in the grinding.  To me they add  a lot to the game.

I think there are to many of these seasonal holidays.  Bliz has a whole team for these seasonal events, which is great for the people who enjoy them, but I would rather those Devs worked on content that would stay in the game, and have meaning like more 5man instances.  That way I would have something to do besides grind primals or PVP.  I would rather log out and watch TV then do these quests, they give no XP if you need it and the rewards are useless.

I like the seasonal quests, besides Brewfest. Looking forward to Hallow's End and Father Christmas.

But I have a problem with the line ' ... keeping this game fun' We all know there are several things wrong with WoW that can be changed to make it more fun, for example quests. If WoW stole a bit more from Warhammer and started using their questing ideas then they'd be keeping the game fun.

Hey watch our for...nevermind, I'll rez ya.

I love the seasonal content. As a 70 and new raider, the game does get to be a bit demanding and worklike. But! When the seasonal stuff comes out, I can just drop everything, make a call out to the guild and go crazy for the seasonal stuff. When Brewfest released, I hopped on-Sent a come to party tell-and we raced and drank and chased pink elekks all over the place! And everyone can join in. We had a player only 2 weeks into WoW, playing along with our veterans. I can't wait for the Headless Horseman! He's soon to be a fully dead guy RAWR!
