dev chats are a load of rubbish in my opinion, what they need to do instead of forcing players out of the conversation is stick the devs in one room with the players and have them talk to each other, not talk through them, I barely look at these things because of the way they're ran. Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place. |

Bad news , no bonus for grouping. I hate this it is so dumb, there should be + xp / reknow for grouping just like there is in DAOC. Not becuase there is in DAOC , but becuase it makes grouping worthwhile . It could be 3% + xp /RK per player in group, IE 2 players = +3%, 6 = +18%.
Other bad news Universal Cooldowns, WOW anyone. There can be many cool downs on abilities thats fine in fact its good. But unviversal cool downs are dumb. There should be moves/spells abilities that do not have any cooldown. These Dev Chats are mostly for entertainment and to get a chance to see the personalilites of the developers. Some people seemed to think that they were going to announce the last elf classes or something. By now we should ALL know that major news is saved for major conferences and shows. It baffles me why people ALWAYS ask questions that they know would be big revealtions (How does Crafting work? How do Living Guilds work?). Everyone KNOWS they wont' be answered in an informal IRC discussion, but we get the questions anyway. We'll get the answers to those types of questions the way we always have - major press releases, major articles or major events. There were some useful tidbits of course - no XP bonus for grouping and such. And the Devs also give people a general feel of the game with their chat and those tidbits. Obviously some people aren't happy with what they're hearing and that's to be expected. Mythic has been clear that they're not trying to make a game that will appeal to everyone, they want a a focused game and if that means less subscribers they're willing to accept that. Which, frankly, has been one of WAR strengths IMO. And I think that focus might actually bring in more subscribers rather than push them away. |

Over 300 questions were submitted during the chat; while the devs stayed a half hour late to answer more of those questions, we still had 98 questions in the queue (after deleting duplicate questions). Today I will be going through these questions and sending 20 on to the WAR team. We apologize if your question did not get answered; there was no favoritism, no rating "X" question over "Y" question; questions were selected purely on a first come, first serve basis. I thought the information given was alright and informative. Of course I'm coming from the view of not having been to all the fansites or the gamesites. I am eagerly anticipating the release though |

Originally posted by TyfreakyYou and i meet agian. Well i was there , and it looked very first come first serve. that being said when the mythic peeps said we are not answer anymore about guid stuff after the first question was asked, the MMORPG people cleared out all of the guild questions from the bot (this happened to em and it told me about it ). How it worked was , you joined the irc channel then you sent a message like this: /msg devbot <your question here>. It spit them out 1 after another in the order they were recived.
That being said the MMORPG staff did look at the questions before sending them into the channel, thus avoiding flames and trolls (like soem oen sayign why does mythic suck, the mmorpg staff would have removed that question from the bot). Addtionally , the mmorpg staff removed repeditive questions and questiosn that the mythic people said ina reply to a question they would not answer (guild and crafting stuff) MMORPFG's "stories" were fine, you just need some logic. Anyone could submit any question at the start all questions (other than 100% trolls) were open game, however, the dev.s (mythic people) decied which one they would answer. Ok what this means is if i asked you: why do you suck at all games, are you sweet, what color is your hair, and how many time have you smoked weed? And you answered you hair is brown, you are sweet and said i am not answering the other two. You just chose what questions you would answer, the same way the mythic peoples did.

Originally posted by JetrpgI have to disagree with your logic. MMORPG apologised for not everyones question being answered, and stated it was on a first come first serve basis. If this was true there would be NO selection process other than the obvious filtering of "mythic sucks" and repetitive questions.
So there was filtering of questions, by the Devs, but again Taera states there was no filtering of this sort and that the questions were first come first serve. Secondly: Taera just stated they CHOSE 20 questions to be sent on to Mythic to be answered. If it was truly first come first serve the first 20 questions of the 98 unasked ones would have been sent and there would be no choosing process.
It seems MMOrpg.com does have a favoritism policy, I just want them to admit it. |

Wow, you're really stretching here. Taera said that the questions were selected on a first come first serve basis, not that they were answered as such. Mythic still had final say over what questions were displayed in the channel (or so was stated). So no one lied. As far as the 20 questions that were selected out of the 98 that remained. Did you consider the fact that there were probably duplicate, innapropriate, already answered, or not valid questions out of those 98? Seems to me like you are looking for something to be upset about when nothing is there. "There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer." |

Tyfreak just think about it a bit. Find a copy of the full irc log and its really obvious that nothing shady went down. "Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one ..." - Thomas Paine |

Originally posted by Dameonk After going through the 98 questions, there were 34 that were not duplicates, inappropriate, or questions that the WAR dev team said they were unable to answer. From those 34 I picked to the best of my ability the questions most likely to be answered and the questions most likely to benefit the community. This was done by question content, not by the user who asked the question. This was NOT done for the actual chat, and I only did this for the Q&A to make sure we got the most out of it :) There is no favoritism, policy or otherwise.
