Gods and Heroes: A Cross between WoW and Guild Wars : 'nuff said.

Not So Honorable Mention: Pirates Of The Burning Sea: Same old tired premise.

I agree with all those suggestions, more from a business standpoint than a fanboi standpoint.

Gods and Heroes will fail because its a cross between two very successful games and PotBS will fail because its yet another in the glut of Pirate games that completely dominate the market.  I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but wow, is this a brilliant post.

Edit: God and Heroes is going to end up like Dark and Light

For those of us that went thru that pain, you know what I'm talking about.

BTW: What games are dominating the 'Pirate' market? Do I need to live in another galaxy?

Are you serious?

I mean if you had done one second of research on the game you would see something, you know what that is?

ITs been in production for five years. Yes thats right they started making the game in 2002, months before shooting for "Pirates of the Caribbean" took place. Which obviously means if the movie was just starting production at the time, they were not just going off some "fad" pirate trend.

Look at the game, You can be pirates and be naval officers along with free-tradesman. You can sail around and trade with people, or you can fight in the army, or capture ships if your a pirate.

This is not some one-trick pony game, that you can bash without any real knowledge of it. If you had taken the time to look at the game with an open mind I would not even post this. What you said comes from what I believe to be an under-educated guess.

If you actually go read some dev-logs, check out the forums and look at the videos, I will admit that "I" was wrong and that you in fact dislike the game for good reasons. I just do not like to see slander on the forums for a game that is trying so hard to break the fantasy carebear mmo, mold.

Not that I agree with your characterization, but if we accept it for the sake of argument I must say that "nuff said" does not really explain why the combination of two highly succesful games will be unsuccessful.

Very serious. This comes from having experience will all these games. I just don't see them being anything special.

Just venting my feelings. Just going on gut instinct and being in the business since the Commodore 64 days.

Really? Brilliant? I wouldn't go nearly that far in my opinions. They'd be going the other way as well. PotBS is going to be mildly successful, and it isn't just following some trendy wave. It actually has some good ideas behind it. Tabula Rasa never was or will be the king. Also it is going to fail because the developers are douche bags, and couldn't find a way to make their game fun if it were tied to a bloody strobe light. Which it kind of is. Seriously how could they botch a concept with that much potential? This isn't fair, the developers aren't all morons, I'm just a little mad that someone made an entire thread dedicated to trolling. God's of Heroes on the other hand I'll neither agree or disagree with because I know very little about it.

That post that you just called brilliant, is one of the most uninformed trollish pieces of mindless flame bait I have seen all week... unfortunately only all week.

EDIT: Just to clarify, the only thing meant against you in all of this is that you find this "brilliant".
