Been watching this game for a while--it's got a lot of features that I'm really looking forward to seeing in action; namely, a skill-point system. Besides, it's probably the closest thing to Fallout we'll be seeing, unless the Fallout/Bioware rumors turn out to be true. Apply lemon juice and candle flame here to reveal secret message. |

Fallen Earth used to be my most anticipated mmo. I've been keeping up with development since the beginning, but it's just taking too long and my interest has faded. It looks great, but I'm not holding my breath, after years of development, the game doesn't look like it'll be coming out anytime soon. |

It's not only the amount of time that leads me to lose interest, but the apparent indication that the longer it takes to develop, with very little to no communication between developer and followers of the game, the more likely it will be that the game is struggling through development for some reason or another. The first mmo that comes to mind is Dark and Light, and there are many others I remember that have taken a very long time in development and have gone through a lot of turmoil. Exceptions are mmos like World of Warcraft, which did take a pretty long time, but as the game approached launch, more and more information was revealed that was reassuring to the fans that followed development. I have seen or heard no information about Fallen Earth to lead me to believe that the game is on track any more than it was a few years ago. There are many other mmos that have been announced since then that also have shifted my interest away from Fallen Earth. So I still hold to the opinion that it is almost just as important to be very upfront with the public while developing an mmo. Otherwise keep the game under wraps until things are set in stone. It was save some of us fans a lot of headaches and anxiety! |
