well i guess an honest response is better than phoney marketing bs. 

if they're pursuing their passion AND making an adequate living AND they accept the fact it'll never be WoW, then they can claim success and be happy with what they've created.  If not then they should quit and go back to being a nameless faceless worker in some giant soulless corporation.  gamedev isnt for everyone.
