Do you like...

A) DAoC/Shadowbane

Large open combat areas, massive keep warfare with dynamic pvp. Alot of large scale pvp to happen, meaning lag, lag, crashing, but fun.

B)WoW/Guildwars

Relies on instances for PvP with little to no large scale PvP happening. Meaning a little lag but pvp always in same areas with fixed amount of enemies/allies.

...the best?

if you picked A, AoC is for you, if you picked B, WAR is for you.

The end.

Your simplistic argument with no support makes me giggle.

I think AoC is for those that want to be doing something other than tapping a few keys on their keyboard every once and while and want to use strategy to win.  Its also for people who like competition since its the type of game where the better player is guaranteed to win.

War is for people who just like to play casually with friends and have no problem with the lack of interaction or skill it takes to play.  Kids, old people, and people with slow reflex or some form of ineptness should like War the best I would think.

I definately dont think theres any counter-argument with these things.

UO-3 Years
Shadowbane-1.5 Years
DAoC-1 Year
Everything Else >6 Months

It's not going to be who is better in AoC it's who brings the zerg that wins.

I agree with Turnipz, though I also think that DAOC is also very much like war with the RvR concept. And also seeing as they are made by the company.

Isn't this backwards?  Mythic, author of DAoC (a pretty good game in its time), is also putting out Warhammer Online and it's poised to have some fairly complicated RvR.

Am I missing something?

I agree with you on some level, but you must admit that liking WAR does not mean you are inept. Many people will play just for the IP.

That said, if you cannot decide, I would go AoC. It is supposed to be less like the generic games we have so many of right now. It has a great deal of lore for RPers, but so does WAR, but WAR is not an IP that really lends itself to roleplaying, in my opinion.

If you love PvP and are pretty casual, WAR. If you are hardcore about PvP, AoC, as there is more sense of accomplishment in it, I think. If you are a roleplayer or a more balanced player, like myself (see left) AoC. WAR seems too restricted to current fans are PvPers.

Yes you are missing something.  Your missing the fact that you took the bait and are now involved in another meaningless debate over two entirely different games.

I knew I shouldn't have posted in a "debate" topic.  I'm new to posting - chalk it up to being a noob MMORPG poster.

I'm just sayin its the same stuff over and over.  It's kinda like my girlfriend.  She says something that gets under my skin and I feel the need to argue my point but in reality its pointless because she, much like all the fanbois here, are incapable of seeing things from a different persons perspective.  The only difference here is you can just close the page and not look back where as with my girlfriend she is sitting right there with the freakin remote and wont let you watch tv until she gets her way.
