I have a hard time calling AoC a PvP game, nevermind PvP king lol. Especially when there's absolutely zero vids of AoC PvP.

EVE is the PvP king for unseeable future.

basically old school pvpers from any of the old  games besides RvR like DAoC or the WoW people who are lured to WAR by its similarites

DAOC wasn't about skill,  it was about what class wasn't NERF'd Yet.   At one point it was Necromancers destroying 2-3 people at a time, then they Nerf em, and  Skalds were insane, then another class.  DAoC wasn't about individual skill it was about who played the class with the most love.

Yeah if PvP'ing is all about GANKING 10 on 1-2.    That's not PvP'ing.  Thats just getting a group of  people together who have a common goal,  kill and collect,  no quest for challenge there.    Collision Detection is important to help against mass ganking,  and the fact that you'll be able to hit your team mates with spells.  There will still be ganking, but it won't be  setting to orbit a player and press a few buttons to unload on them.   Thats hardly PvP"ing.

the bottom line is in aoc your guild can fight every other guild and actually take territory from others and build upon it,  where as in war its a simple 2 factions just repeating the same battles over and over again

as far as dynamic, strategic and everchanging pvp gameplay is concerned aoc is the clear victor  just look at the mechanics of  each game

Its people like you that make this community look utterly clueless.

Its people like this, that leave the War Forums to troll AOC forums that make threads like these bloated with uselessness.

I agree with this person your quoteing here 100%.   I like to pick my enemies, and allies.  I don't like somebody telling me who should  be my teammate and who should be my Foe.   If somebody  who's the same Race(or Culture) stabs me in the back,  I like to make them an enemy.  How many people in WOW hated somebody on their same faction, and you just had to deal with it.  SUre you could duel, but its useless because they've lost nothing for real, it was a pretend fight.   I like UO's system.  Find a guild you don't like and declair war on them.  Declair war on everyone if you'd like.

Right, because that's all there is in EVE, newbie ganging. Nevermind massive corp vs corp wars, political PvP, spying, tradewars ect ect..

If AoC comes even close to EVE PvP, I'll be AMAZED (and extremely happy, cuz I'll definately be playing it).

EVE = how much time played/payed to your account converts to your skill abilities,(in essences, you can effect this a little, but in the end it's a pay to skill game) pvp on eve = make a ship , sit there and smash a button or two. No actually skill by the player needed. Don't see how this is the ultimate pvp game unless you are saying that fighting over crafting resources makes a game a great pvp game, because in the end, that is what it is.

DAOC, pvp is considered one of the best pvp system not for the pvp but the rvr design mechanics that brought sieging in the MMO's genre for the first time. Keeps and towers can be sieged and broken and actually feel apart and or collapsed once enough damage was put upon them. Allowing the players to add npc on the fly or adding ballistas, catapults etc was another part of that. Sure they had hard points, but the player could purchase off these points and then use the siege weapon to help defend off the invaders. My favorite of these of course was boiling oil by most entrances :)

WAR, will have the same concepts of DAOC described above, as the same company is making WAR that made DAOC. Most if not all their pvp descriptions of WAR can be seen from DAOC. The only difference I have seen differently is that WAR will now have the instances of pvp combat that is something along the lines of WOW's current pvp system. Enter instances, fight against so many players per side for key points. HOWEVER, a nice thing here is instead of a two sided war they will have 3 factions. In the end thou it is a representation of both DAOC and WOW in mechanics, look and feel which undoubted will get allot of players to that game. My old Clan is going there and that 100+ players. I left my clan because of it, we started in planetside, ended up in sucky WOW and now they are  going to WAR. No thnx on the cookie cutter games.

AOC, While I havn't followed this title closely till now, (eh I wasn't sure on the whole concept of Conan universe and to be frank, that it is made by Funcom I had my reservation on even thinking about it.) after reading and seeing everything on the "official" site then getting some good solid info from the fans here. I see a new game overall and that is after all what I am looking for as a player. I don't think AOC will see the numbers that WAR will for many reasons. Not because it's a better game, I LOL on that one, it is the fact that WAR has a brand name many of us old gamers know. (Board/miniatures/RP playing before the whole MMO craze) Then you add in the factor that as much as people say "They are NOT CLONES", that infact they are so similar, those board with WOW or have already left will try WAR just because you will be able to "jump" right into without any learning curves.

Overall, the one thing that fries me to no end, is this cookie cutter , lead the player by the hand and don't ever let him/her make a choice of their own. Each MMO has been doing this more and more. Sure I can pick a character and then go into the world and do quest in the order I so choose. But in the end, I am restricted by an ugly repetitive interface, no option to smack some retard when he is being a retard, no system to take care of grieving issues (those that abuse to just make life miserable for those just trying to learn the game) and more. Surprisingly after not having much interest in this title to begin with, they have all these things I wanted without even looking for them directly. What I have come across is I will read something and say to myself "I always wanted that in an MMO!" and sure enough after I say that about one thing I would say it again about another. What  kind of player will ultimately end up on AOC are players like me who look at it with optimistic haze, then actually read a bit and say the same thing "Wow, I always wanted that in an MMO!". When I First saw "Bounty hunter npc's will hunt you down for..." I was simply amazed that someone finally got that concept along with many others this title has.

My 2 cents.

*EDIT* my bad i had a thing about daoc necros in here, they are in game, sadly I forgot about that class, because as mentioned when mythic nerfed, they nerfed the necro into a pve toon. Never seen a necro in daoc as a necro known "per-say" as we know them in say D&D. So edit for a bad ops!

DAOC, when did they ever have necro's? Not trying to be picky here, but I played DAOC for 4 years and don't ever remember  a necro class for albs, hibs, or mids for that matter.
