...don't get me wrong, I'm just making a view not stating fact but I feel like I can't be a two axe carrying 'zerker because I'm told by other players that I have to be one handed and shield. I can't be staff Bruiser because I'm told that I'm gimped unless I go unarmed in the beginning. I could just be being badly informed of course, or just getting it wrong myself but this is how I feel with EQ2 sometimes and why I don't feel I can stick with a class much past level 10.

Do whatever you want.  I never listen to the freaks who tell me what I should and should not do.

If you're happy with two axes, by golly lob of dem heads with two axes!

There is no learning without pain

Yes do what you think is fun. Min/Maxers have be ruining RPG's (both online and tabletop) even since the white box D&D.

''Tis an ill wind that blows no minds.

Play how you want to play. I can't remember what the min-maxers say is the best weapon combination for monks, but I use dual batons because I like the look of it. When I use my berserker to tank, I use sword and shield, but when I'm soloing, I use a two-hander or dual-wield. I might be doing 10% less damage, but I don't play to be the absolute best. It's a game, and I play it for fun.

Take what they say as suggestions. None of it is mandatory.

I take it as a personal challenge to succeed in an unconventional way

SWG - One of the original Master Rangers (retired)
EQ2 - 62 Swashbuckler
WOW - 76 Hunter, 70 Rogue
LOTRO - 30 Burglar
DDO - Level 3 Rogue

If you are a min/maxer this is true but if you play to have fun this is false. The only issue comes if you group with min/maxers and even then they are usually guilded together so only play together.

Your zerker will need to use a shield if he is tanking.. other than that play however you feel like

Nothing wrong with wielding two axes unless of course you are supposed to be the tank.

Do what i used to do, i usually had a two hander but i kept on my person a one hander + shield for those occasions that i was tanking for a group.

Now on the other hand, if you want to head down the best AA line for zerkers your going to have to switch to one hander + buckler like i did.

Do what you want but don't expect people to agree with you if you gimp yourself.

Personally I find focusing on what the class does best works better than trying to make it do something it's not made to.
