i am trying to get wow to run on my other pc which is running ubuntu ( feisty ) it runs fine under wine but it crashes when i try to change the settings. i hear this is normal. what i wanna know is how do i edit the settings out of game i know i have to edit the config.wtf file, thats how i changed it to opengl instead of d3d. but beyond that i don't know what is what and what i need t edit to change the video settings.

I think in the WoW folder there is a setup.exe file or something of the sort.

Now that I read you're full post here it is, I had to do the same a while back.
Right click your desktop icon. Out side of the Target line type -opengl ( "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe" -opengl ) I hope that is what you needed, if not this can help you too: www.blizzard.com/support/wow/ |

Even if you set the setting to the lowest it can go, so it looks like Runescape (not really, just telling you an analagy of how low I mean) OpenGL will be choppy. I set my settings lowest possible, and I couldn't get over 30 or 20 FPS (maybe lower, this was 3 years ago heh). I would suggest to go out and buy a decent AGP card if you don't have any PCI-E ports. You can get a nice one for around $100, or lower if you look around.
