True, but the whole age restrictions thing doesn't prevent youngsters from obtaining material they shouldn't, at least of a certain nature. The truth is, in the UK (much like US) parents will be fairly easy on the age limits and see them more as guidlines when it comes to violence or gore in a computer game especially, pornography they take more seriously. As its a game parents see them as beeing made for the kids in the first place, and kids themselves are naturally drawn to those games with lovely red 18 stickers on them. What age group do you feel are responsible for buy the majority of eminem albums with the LEGAL stickers. I do agree with you in priciple, there is a proces and that it should work well. The truth is (and the censor's know this) that in the real world it simply does not. |

It is a simple question of responsability, parents should start educating their kids, i for sure won't give my son any game similar to manhunt.
But it isn't as simple as that, cause most parents don't give a funk! And then it becomes a concern for the next generation, the youth. The youth has a right to a correct moral upbringing, even if their parents fail to give them one, and this is where responsability is passed on to government, rightfully so. I say ban manhunt and all games like that. Heck! I rather I find my kids watching porn than enjoying manhunt, I would be a bit worried if they liked the latter considerably more. |

To ban a MMO would be extremly difficult to implement. Well the banning is easy, to stop people playing it is not. Unless you are sitting behind the great firewall of China that is. I imagine the same for Manhunt. |

I thank EA for the lack of innovative games. |

There are too many ways, given the internat, that people in any country can obtain any game of any language it was released in. This is not something people will ever allow to be changed. You can try to make it illegal all you want, but the more you push the more people will want it. |

I loved Manhunt and thanks to this (to me) new information about the second game being banned in the UK pretty much made me all warm inside and I can't wait to play it! I veru much doubt Age of Conan will be banned though. |

I dont see the logic behind baning games. There is a rating system and if a game can be rated 18+ why take the next step and ban a game especially since ive seen way more violence in movies that were actually rated 16+ Is it because they fear that a kid will get his hands on the game regardless of the rating or is it actually used as marketing? I mean a game being baned builds up alot of hype and you can always get a copy from the internet as the other posters have said |
