The folks over at NCsoft and Crpyic Studios have released a fact sheet and historical background on the upcoming Issue 10: Invasion that sees the alien Rikti return to Earth. While this is not a feature that is exclusive to MMORPG.com, we felt that the information was worth getting out, so enjoy!

The skies over Paragon City are filled with dark grey thunderheads. It is the same in the Rogue Isles, Europe, and across the globe. Small ships dart through the heavy weather ... and there are so very many of them.

The Rikti have returned.

RIKTI WORLD INVASION

Issue 10 begins with a World Event that spans across numerous zones in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, as the Rikti return in devastating waves. They are armed with new, brutal weapons and seek to establish a beachhead on Earth, presumably to save their lost brethren and to finish what they started the first time ... the destruction of Earth!

Will have to try it but...

No Villain epic AT yet?   I sure hope them to be neat and not just a copy/paste kheldians with all the waiting!  (Even in I10, the waiting is LOOOOONG, I11+ = insanely long)

Rough estimate would be before X-mas. 

I can be wrong, it can be faster (or later?).  But, usually, they bring 2 issues per year and this is the intended goal.  We just got I9, so 5 months or so for I10...

Well first off about the Villain epic AT.... we don't know if the Invasion is all of I10.  Besides, they did say they are working on it but want to make sure they are not just "evil warshades".  That is a good thing as I really wouldn't want to just essentially replay my warshade in Rogue Isles.

Since they said the Invasion is a world event, with screens in Atlas, I would guess that any hero/villain would get some participation.  Probably just need to be 35+ to get the event-specific missions.  If it is done similar to the Council's takeover of the Fifth Column, we will see mobs fighting in the streets all over for a few weeks.

Who knows if the portals have been opened to the Rikti Homeworld, that could hint at a possible venue for I11?

Actually, no. They told us about it yesterday AND started closed beta for it yesterday. Closed test server, 3-5 weeks +Open test server, 2-3 weeks = 5-8 weeks for I10. Thats a realistic outlook of its realease.

This is them starting on their "new issue every 3 months" they told us about before. I11 will come out around Oct/Nov. That's not to long ofr EATs and new powersets (which is speculated what I11 will be).

Do you know if they will add character slots when the epic villain comes live...or will I need to play it on Triumph (instead of Liberty) with my extra characters (and my PB)?
