Now that is interesting. It's almost enough for me to come back to the game . . . but I deleted my characters, lol, just to make sure I never went back! LOL. - Stray |

Interresting, My question is why are they even going to lengths like this to beging with. Seems like they are doing this for the wrong reasons. Had a company that was not in the situation CCP is in done this. I would say "neat". A company with a game like Eve should never get involved with game politics, and should always represent a Un-Biased point of view towards the thriving community within the game. No one is perfect and no one expects CCP to be perfect. I for one kinda think they set themselves up alittle. Thay made such strict guidelines reguarding tampering from Dev's and GM's. Had they actually set realistic punishments or punishments that they were willing to inforce no matter who broke the rules. This shit storm thats been going on for awhile now would not have ever happened. People would say oh a gm cheated and got dealt with accordingly. Sure it would be a blimish but blimishes go away as long as you take the steps to correct them. I don't see how this is one of those steps tho. Whats a no name person from the community gonna be able to do really? I mean all they are gonna do is invite them out show them a good time. Then they are just gonna go back to the community and say everythings ok?

In a way that is in the atmosphere of the game... It shouldn't been USR in the "I robot" movie it should have been "EVE". Not CCP that would have been to unimaginative. The computersystem in "Terminator" movies should have had subliminal connections to CCP. |

Well, I think it's a good action by CCP. But I don't think it will let the accusations fade. I think when something happens again (or someone feels something maybe might have happend) it will be easy to accuse the Committee also. There is always someone in there with some (imaginary or not) link to BoB, Goons or the next big alliance.
So I don't think this will stop accusations but I like the idea that CCP opens up. And of course it's great advertisement because this will be covered by a lot of media worldwide :) |

You know when I was in the military we would go about our business from day to day doing our jobs and complaining about one thing or another. There were things that needed to get fixed, painted, replaced etc... a thousand things that seemed to never get addressed and we just had to live with it. That is until some General wanted to do a "Surprise" inspection of his units to see how things really were at the soldiers level of things. For a couple of weeks before the "Surprise" inspection thats when things would get fixed, repaired, replaced etc... individuals were selected to have a chat with the General so he could get the soldiers perspective. You know the guys I'm talking about, the guys who ran around kissing booty, getting as much face time as they could so they got the early promotions or never seemed to have to pull a detail for the Sgt Major. All for the purpose of showing the General that he had a tight outfit and that there weren't any problems. So CCP wants to put together an oversight group, thats good in principle. Personally the notion of making a popularity contest out of it is going to give them exactly what they want. A bunch of players that are biased favorably toward CCP, that they can clean things up for prior to their scheduled arrival for their "Surprise" inspection. They need to randomly pick out people who can then drop in unannouced to check things out, you know walk into the developers cubicals and take a look over their shoulders, I highly doubt that CCP employees personal accounts are going to be able to be checked out to see who they play with. Don't get me wrong I think its a great idea but it needs to be done in a manner that allows it to have a candid look at whats going on rather than seeing whats been cleaned up prior for the "Surprise" inspection. |
