King of the flamers.

Im probebly going to buy this game for a couple of reasons but first I need to know a few things before I do.

How many expansions are out for this game?

Do I need all of the expansions for the full play or do I need the most updated expansion?

Hows the game is it new and origanal or is it like another particular game?

And just add other stuff that you would think would be good for a noob to know ahead of time.

A big on why Im going to join this game is becuase this games players dont run around flaming and seem to be quit civilized which is pretty rare in this kind of communtity. Also the game seems pretty modest instead of running around flashing its ratings like LOTRO and WOW.

So im deciding to give this game a try becuase this game might hav e what Im looking for.

P.S: Does this game have any good lore? Im kind of a lore fanatic and without it I get bored easily. Thanks.

There are three expansions with a fourth coming out in November. If you buy the Echoes of Faydwer (current expansion) retail package, it comes with the base game and all the expansions. The first two expansions are aimed at mid to high level players but the most recent one has content starting at level 1.

It's definitely a great game that is getting better, I think you'll enjoy it.

if you buy Echoes of Faydwer (you get the 3 expansions along with it) and the usual 30 days free.

Plus you also get:

  • EQ2 Consumable Item: Copter
  • Kingdom of Sky - Carnivorous Plant House Pet
  • 182 Day Vet Reward
  • 90 Day Vet Reward
  • 30 Day Vet Reward
  • 7 Day Vet Reward
  • 1 Day Vet Reward
  • Desert of Flames Pre-Order - Pet Monkey
  •

definately worth it...... my carnivorous plant freaks me out though.

Plus they've added some nice content recently - in the form of Neriak...

Three. Fourth coming out later this year.

You get them all when you buy the Echoes of Faydwer expansion. You also get the main game so don't buy it separately.

Best current MMO on the market and even better than some of the new releases that are coming out soon.

And just add other stuff that you would think would be good for a noob to know ahead of time.

Don't expect to group alot unless you're in a guild. People don't tend to group very often in this game because its completely soloable and grouping tends to be more annoyance than help.

Do the quests. I can't stress that enough. Do not grind your way up. If you grind, you're missing the point. Its called Everquest for a reason. The game is in the quests, not in the grind. And the end game isn't the point, the journey is.

Very good lore. If lore is what you're looking for, you'll find it here.

Only a warrior chooses pacifism; others are condemned to it.

I think everyone covered it but 3 and buy the EoF for $40 and you get all the expansions.

Just get the most updated one.

I never played the first EQ I played AC1 (no flames please ) but the game has a lot to do and it is one of the most engaging games that I have played in a long time.

There is never a shortage of things to do! Damn are there a ton of quests and there are going to be a ton that you miss. As someone else said do the quests a ton of exp will come from there; also if you look around you can usually find multiple quests for the same thing!

I suggest doing a little research on your classes before you start the game; EQ2i is one of the more informative websites that I have found. PS (fae monks dont work so well). Read up on there and they have a good amount of detail on characters that is very useful; I actually am a good berzerker and will have to betray the good side so I can swear to a god for the best outcome. (thats what I get for not doing research.)

The game is good solo and I found that groups of 2 or 3 are the most fun to me; its amazing what the difference that this little group can make over solo.

Nerik is only a couple weeks or so old. If you want groups Start there!

Lore is absolutly king in this game and there are storylines out the YANG! Every region has lore and there are strings that read from "I lost my cat" to signature lines that span for ghastly  level ranges. I actually rejoined the game about a month ago ( I tested Vanguard for about a year and a half) and I have actually had a wonderful time.

    Welcome to the game buddy!
