I pay 0,5 $ for a bus trip to center, 1 $ for cigaretts (I don't smoke but anyway) so even 15 EUR is something I consider carefully before spending. I can say with 99% possibility that I will not pay 20 EUR for a game. (I just got a raise so I can atlast afford 1 game a month :) ) |

you guys are high for suggesting something like this. you really think paying more will be beneficial to you in the least? is that the logic? "hey, we'll give you more money if you give us a better product!" how bout, they give us a better product first.. no game is worth 20 bux alone right now. or are you as consumers concerned about the financial gain of the game developers profit margin? and if so.. why on earth do you care and be willing to sacrifice your own hard earned money to put their kids through college? |

raising the price would not be a good idea.. it will be the only game with a higher price which is going to turn people off.

As of right now the most expensive money fee for an MMO that i know of is $17 USD. Dont see how AOC is worth $3 USD more then that and $5 USD more then most other MMO.
Only MMO i could see posibley charging $20 USD is Darkfall and thats only if they have everything they promised. "Don’t unthinkingly follow authorities, whether intellectual, political or religious. And don’t unthinkingly follow traditions, or social conventions. Think for yourself. Look at the facts, and try to base you're views and your behavior on how things actually are."

I still remember $9.99 a month. Anyone I would mention that I was paying $9.99 a month for a game would look at me crazy. Then it went up to 12-13 and finally $15 was the avg. It went from people not wanting to pay at all and saying they would never pay monthly to play a game to people the masses (WoW) gladly handing over $15. I play multiple mmo's and usually have more than one account per game. I have never had the amount of time as some of these lvl 1-70 in 7days or less, but having multiple accounts does allow me to get more done in a shorter time. I can see though how there would be people out there as there will always be who simply will not want to pay more and more money for a game, but when you think of it. It's not really more, it's simply inflation lowering the value of our money. $20 a month seems like a big jump ahead of the pack though. I doubt they will go that high, if they raise the bar at all. Most likely they're going to stick to the avg at the time of release, most likely to be $15. At most I would say they'll go $16.99 or there abouts. _________________________________ Currently Playing: Eve-Online Achiever 47% / Explorer 40% / Killer 87% / Socializer 27% |

Prices in general goes up, but not all prices. The thing with MMO's, or games with monthly fees, they gets more popular. I.e. more paying players. This will actual result in cheaper fees. More expensive production of the games will make them more expensive. But overall I think we will see the prices be around 10-15 USD per month for a good while. A price jump from 15 to 20 USD is too fast anyway. And to the one that said average age are between low to mid teens, I think thats wrong. Isn't the target age for AoC 25 or something? And minimum 18. Not sure how they going to enforce the 18 years limit. -- |

I have eaten less than 4 snickers this decade and those were the bite size ones. Aside from his eating habits, prices will always raise to what ever the consumer is willing to pay. If they knew that at least 100k subscribers would sign up for $50 a month, and their servers could only handle a user base of 100k then they would charge $55 just for good measure. Obviously they wont charge that much, but the point is they wont charge less unless they're going to put ads in game. Hell they might even charge more than $15 and still place ads in game. Nike Axe's, Mountain Dew potions, Sean Jean Armor. Haha who knows. _________________________________ Currently Playing: Eve-Online Achiever 47% / Explorer 40% / Killer 87% / Socializer 27% |

Thing is, prices do NOT have to go up everyday. Its just that the private company called "the federal reserve" which is no more federal than Federal express, prints money with immediate interest attached to it. Thats what your taxes go to pay for. Which by the way (there is no law saying you have to pay taxes, so stop paying for your countries debts). Also how good do you feel knowing out of every dollar, 50 cents of that goes to killing those in the world who don't agree with the "doctrine of the new american century". And killing great peoples just because they wont comply with corporate, banking, and oil interests. Watch "Zeitgeist" and come out of that bubble. $19.95 seems a bit steep for a month. As personally i usually only get to play 1-2 hours a night, and rarely on weekends unless i want to try and do it drunk. For people who play 12 hours a day or whatever and are starting to develop a hump from bending over the keyboard, this may be a great deal. I intend to play AoC to check it out, and i can deal with $20.00, but i know there are many in my situation who have lives and jobs and wont be able to power game. It wont change, so ill have to deal with it.. Currently playing: Planetside, Americas Army.

C'mon, I like how all of a sudden this "Zeitgeist" movie comes out and it becomes the holy grail for jump on the band wagon conspiracy theorists. So your blaming the price of the games monthly fee on the federal reserver and the NWO? Are you serious? I think your mind has lost many of it's brain cells from the radiation of your monitor while you were watching that movie. Zeitgeist, does have good theories in it but don't compare that to how a games monthly fee is decided. So I guess next your going to say President Bush, is causing the price hikes of gaming?
