This game seriously needs a land based component otherwise it get just too boring travelling around as a space-ship after a while. MMO's need some physical social interaction in form of Avatars that are more than a shiny potrait.  I left this game in about 2 months time because running around as a spaceship just  got too boring and lethargic for me. When i play mmo's i like to see other players avatars moving about, and inteacting which is an important factor towards the virtual world and social aspects. This game seriously fails at thisessential facet of an MMO.

This game can really get lots more susbcribers if they can atleast give the characters an opportunity to move about on the space station they so frequently dock at and interact with np'c and other players at cantina etc. Now if they can add planets that can be visited that will be really awesome in my book and might make me come back to the game for a long haul.

I'd echo the previous poster's opinion. Though social interaction is not the primary reason I play MMORPGs, it is a big factor and playing a game without human/humanoid avatars that can directly engage each other just isn't my thing, personally. Character avatars tend to interest me more than the color of their ship or the size of their guns and I think that makes the whole experience a bit more immersive for me.

Even though I'm just as tired as anyone else of recycled fantasy MMO settings, I'd currently take the tired old fantasy environs over floating around the black void of space as a rocketship. I think if sci-fi MMO's breath a little more color and life into their games, the players will come. With all the potential planets and civilizations sci-fi MMO's have to play with, the possibilities are endless. But for now I'm sticking to hacking away at goblins in the Elfqueef Forest.

First Person.

I know you asked for only 1, but no.2 is PvE content. Much, much more.

I wish my grass was emo so it would cut itself.

I would really like some options to get out of your ship, even if its for a little while.

But more importantly i wish that every where that u went didnt look just like the past 100000000 places you went, and all the tasks are nearly the same task as the last 1000000 tasks you just did.

Also i would like it if you could roam where you would like, the only movement available is when you actually want to move to somthing.

Mainly tho i just want a better exploring world, areas that were more than just space and asteroides and stargates and such.  One of my favorite things to do in games is go around the continents and check out the art and the scenery.

Once avatars can leave their ships (and I've heard they are planning to do this), honest crackdown on cheating, shortened flight times and perhaps a graphics update I'd join in a heartbeat.

The problem I see in it is the waiting and the horrible interactive screensaver type combat. Make mining and combat  more then click on an object and wait, do something about flying across the region for an hour to get everything at a good price.

The second I didn't have a fear of losing in pvp I found that it was the same as mining. Warp in, activate devices and wait.

LOL "didn't have to worry about losing in PVP"
If you honestly just warped in, activated a few modules and waited then I'd love to know your character name and killboard address.  Because I call  BS.  Anyone who does that is going to die... alot.  PVE... sure... PVP??? No way in hell.

Yes I was thinking of this. However I'm not ready to leave CoH. Although, EVE's skill system is great for a situation such as this. Perhaps when I'm ready to pay $30 a month on online games I will join.

Ninja Smoke! *POOF*

I played the game for over a year.  The two biggest grips I had with the game were the massive time sinks and the PvP.  I never thought it possible to make a game that actually pillaged a players time.  While you are busy sinking into the game, CCP is sinking into your wallet.  You have to wait years to compete with the veteran PvP'ers and from what I've seen in the game thats all there is left in the game.  No one likes being shoved out into a hail of gun fire against thier will.  The only fail safe for a growing player is to hide inside a space station for years while thier skills slowly ticked away...just thinking about that makes me depressed.
