90 day Free Trial would be much better.

14 days... not worth messing with because of a very limited time to play at night.

With EvE, not only is PvP unrestricted, the very worst aspects of unrestricted PvP (Ganking, etc.) are actually aided and abetted through a travel system that forces you to go through bottlenecks when moving from region to region.  The game developers are unapologetic about this, they readily admit that it is precisely that aspect of PvP that they consider "realistic" and that they intentionally encourage.

Naturally, it's gankageddon.

If you stay in heavily policed areas, you will still get ganked.  Suicide squads will sacrifice themselves to destroy you as you undock in "safe" space, to steal your cargo.

Playing games with unrestricted/unregulated PvP amounts to you giving other people total control over your gaming experience.  If you want your game controlled for you by 13 year olds, then by all means play EvE.  Until such time as that silliness is remedied, I won't be.

It's a wonderful game, with the exception of this grievous PvP design flaw.

Actually, it's very easy to stay in the safer .5 and above systems, when moving between major systems you might have to take the longer routes though.  It's the Shortcuts that go through the lower sec areas.I've had times where I didn't want to get into a fight, so I unsubbed from my Corp and spent a few months going through safer space.  Heck, I'd even travel AFK most of the times, never had any problems.

Get rid of T2 blueprints or at least dramatically change the way they're distributed.

(if I was to say a second thing, it would have to be gate camping)

The single thing that keeps me from playing EvE is that I feel like at this stage I am coming in off the bench during the last quarter. It seems that BoB has a strangle hold on much of the universe and theres not much thats going to stop it - especially with all this stuff about the Devs taking BoB commanders on dates and such.

If they opened a new server with all the bells and whistles that have been added since tranquility went online then I would resub for sure. I guess the other possibility for me to resub is if things got shaken up on tranquility such that everyone was talking about something other than holding off BoB for as long as possible.

Basically I want to feel like Im flying my ship around in the Wild Wild West - not just trying to survive against a superpower.

That's very misleading. Sure, a large player group (remember the Lemmings?) with loads of experience and high level engineering skills can fit frigates to do lots of damage with en mass formations. But noob fleets can't do that. Ask Big Blue how their frig fleets worked against MC.

Noob pilots have neither the soft nor the hard skills to pull it off. By failing to state the importance of skills in EVE, you've made it appear that a noob has a chance at a gate gank with Tech II Interceptors and warp bubble. That's false.

Noobs have it rough in EVE, and all the fun stuff is controlled by large, invulnerable alliances like BoB and MC.

BoB and MC have won EVE. If they cheated, shame on them. If they didn't, they deserve credit for winning the toughest MMORPG around.

I stopped playing EVE because BoB and MC have won the game. Game, set, match. Next MMORPG please.

Thats a better way of expressing what I was trying to get at in my post above. That is the exact thing stopping me from playing EvE.

LESS WAITING

I would resub if CCP would figure out some way to reduce all the waiting.  Everything you do requires waiting.  Lots of waiting.  And when you add it all up.  It adds up to lots and lots of waiting.

You click to enter a jump gate.  You sit there and wait as your ship enters the gate, and your computer loads the next system.  X seconds later, you are back in control.

You click to enter warp.  You sit there and wait as your ship enters warp, flies across the system, and exits warp.  Y seconds later, you are back in control.

You press F1 - F6 to engage an enemy battleship.  You sit there and wait until the enemy battleship is destroyed.  Z seconds later, you are back in control.

It wouldn't be so bad if XYZ was a couple seconds or so.  But it's not.  More like 15, 30, 60, 120, etc.  What it boils down to is that you spend most of your time staring blankly at boring ass space.  And i don't need to pay $15 a month for a glorified version of Windows space flight screen saver.

/edit I am not saying that they should force you to perform a bunch of mindless keystrokes or mouse clicks while you wait.  That would be just as boring but annoying as well.  I'm saying either speed up the process or give us something else to do while we wait.  Other than read a book.  or watch tv

I would like concequences for PKing in 0.0. At the moment, it's more some kind of Counterstrike than mmorpg. Once you begin to PK, it should be a pain in the ass for you to clean your bad karma, or risky.

In other words, the game should reward the lawful and social people, and not the PK as it is currently.
