I was a creature handler...they told me I didn't matter when they got rid of it with the NGE...along with several other professions. Screw Star Wars...I don't care if they develop another game...Star Wars, Lucas Arts, and SOE are all dead to me...you do not matter. Quit buying games...you couldn't make or maintain a decent game if you tried. I feel sorry for all Vanguard players. When I got introduced to SOE as a Matrix Online player I wondered why people hated SOE...yes...now I know. |

Originally posted by Raven99 Heh, it'd be nice if those that left for greener pastures would actually stay there if they're still not happy with the old pasture ;) I think some things need to be cleared up in this thread: No, the servers aren't as populated as they once were back during the launch months. However, they're certainly NOT dead, and for a game that people like to keep saying is "dying" it's doing rather well population wise. The only simillarities between Beast Master and Creature Handler is that you control a pet to help you in combat. The actual details of each are much different. Beast Master is much more involved and diverse then what creature handler was. The only real simillarity between BE and Beast Master is that you sample DNA to make the creature, Beast Master however goes much further then that and you have a rather elaborate process that you can (optionally) go through to make a highend pet. The whole process also involves all the crafting profession, which gives them tools and components to craft that has 2-4 experimentation lines, each affecting the outputted creature in a different way. So if you want to make a broad statement, yes they brought back CH, but they revamped it significantly. This chapter really is the equivilent of an expansion. There is months of content introduced with this chapter, with something for every profession in the game. |

After giving it a day with the new BM thing I have to say, yes, it is very complex and nothing like the old Creature handler system. I prefer the old BE system being seperate though but oh well.
As for taking CH out of the game before, It was so horribly broken. Yeah, I mastered it, had some fun with it. After awhile though you realize how very unbalanced and weak it was. I think right before the CU there was maybe 10 CHs on Bloodfin. So yeah, skip it if you think losing CH was a game killer. I was sad to see it go though. Glad its back in a way. Also, hating on SWG as much as some of you do is unhealthy. Get over it already. Dead horse....beating must stop....mushy pile. Go find something else and play it. be happy with it. Play games. Nobody P**ped in your cornflakes. |

Technically CH were in Return of the Jedi, big fat bloke who cried cos his Rancor was squashed. I welcome CH coming back, admittedly it is old functionality but they have tweaked it and made a fair few changes to boot. Now playing: Nothing |

sorry, i don't see where this is on the swg board.
if people intentionally destroy a game you enjoy, and you wish that someone would fix it and make it into the great game it SHOULD have been (there were so many things they should've been focused on fixing other than the cu/nge crap); then people will be upset and hold a grudge about it. especially if it's something with a long history like star wars. this should've been one of the HUGE mmos out there.
it's not.
why not? how many people do you know that play online games and are star wars fans but DON'T play this game? i know a lot of fans and not a one of them will touch this game with a 10 foot pole.
so how about you whine about people who are dissatisfied with garbage somewhere like, oh yeah, the swg forum? NOT in the general news forum?
mmmkay, thanks, here's your sign. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

(well, other than SOE ruined your favorite toy) . I know lots of SW fans also and guess what? They wouldnt touch this game at any time. Quite odd that people wouldnt like video games eh? Meh, Im done and going to have fun with life now. KKthnxbye. |

They had a far better taming system prior to NGE, this is just big step backwards. I would avoid playing this week, these devs are notorious for poor patch testing. |

It would not be SOE if it worked right the first 2-3 times. Now now fan boi's dont get to hating that some one wants to speek truth about Sony even you know its true. I am just varry happy they did this before there free time was up. I was begining to feel sheepish and silly that I was going to have to say that NGE was not realy the devil and turned out to not be a bad game. Then this pub came down the pike and saved me from eating crow. Perhaps they will merge the servers as scylla is a ghost town from 9 am to 3 pm eastern time i saw 3 other people but they where LD logging out from the party at nymms. When i go back to night from 8pm to 2 am i will probly see 2-3 more people. Making the game need groups is not a bad move if you have people to make groups. From where im siting the real issue still remins the same as always a lack of forsight again caused player made things to unbalance the game so once again change the game rather then do away with the ablity to let players unbalance the game with player made items.

<Mod edit>if you think this new CH. offers months of new gamplay for everyone. I am a Imp, and the only thing new is the Azure Cabal quest. I've already finished it and the CH. hit on tuesday. All their is to do now is repeat missions, that onlt give out like 450 xp, a few hundred azure faction and a couple thousand in credits. I tried out BM on TC and it was to clumsy and boring of a system. All they needed to do was bring back the old CH system. It was much funner to go out into the wild and tame a baby, that hatch the fricken thing. |

New? I dont mind if SOE is motivated only by money, if that were true they might do things we want them to do, in order to actually GET our money. I still have all my pets from my ex MASTER CH b4 the GC. Wonder if they will work now. Ya know...with the NEW creature handler/beast master thing.

The entire point was it was quite a challenge to find a baby and then successfully tame it, some of the rarer creatures were quite an achievement to acquire. This new method has zero challenge to it. Why even bother? Just another example of how dumbed down the game is now. My subscription runs out in a week and I will not renew it. |

Posting excessive negative comments or baiting others to respond in a negative manner is considered trolling on the MMORPG.com forums. Please do not instigate fights, and if you have something negative to say, be sure to back it up with solid information.
-Chiram I feel like linking SWGCreatures website just to show people what creature handlers could do. And in reply did you have any idea how bio engineers worked? Why Not a Sandbox? Check it Archeage |

After some testing I can say that this new CH thing is not a dumbed down version, just totally different. The crafting is so different than Bio Engineer was and Im still trying to figure it out so I have no comment on whether its difficult or not.
Personnaly I thought the old CH system was really easy to. Get Ranger to find you a baby, Tame it. My Fav combo was BE and part CH and In a way this new system is just that. Meh, I dont know if I like it though. |

I created an entertainer and took 2 days to macro up to level 90 so I could check EVERYTHING out and thats the way I found Ahazi. Its nothing but a sea of buildings all labled "Abandoned" now. |
