Dark and Light

USA (SANEPR.com) May 18, 2007 -- VWORLD, LLC has brought a lawsuit before the County Court of Paris against Reunionese game development studio NPCube, and Mauritian game publisher Farlan Entertainment, currently exploiting the massively multiplayer on-line role playing game (MMORPG) title Dark and Light.

This action follows the complaint formally introduced by M. Vincent Pourieux, CEO of VWORLD, for violation of intellectual property rights. The jointly incriminated companies continue to illegally exploit the procedural algorithms that characterize VWORLDTerrain technology and claim ownership on them, which is an obstacle on the correct marketing by VWORLD.

NPCube and Farlan Entertainment will have to respond before Court to the following charges of indictment brought against them: software counterfeit, non-respect of the right to credit and paternity, unfair competition and parasitism.

Ya know? Ya cant even feel a bit bad for any of them involved in this, except of course _Pix_. Wienies, Nothing but wienies they are. Destroyed in the media by their own incompetence and deceit. Guess now tis finally to be the court system to do the same to them.

Its an interesting parallel when a non-profit EMU server get raided by the FBI and closed down, but a profit making company blatantly steals a product and markets it as its own is allowed to continue.

Good to see this is finally going to court. I hope Pix all the best and is finally vindicated and compensated.

If SG have any sense or decency they will either pay up/settle out of court or pull their support of D&L.

Bah...seems to me Farlan and NPCube already seem to be a bit too big for their britches. Courts will cut a hole in the pocket of them and just let the money fall out. There is a saying ..dont remember the exact words ..but it has something to do with building your foundation on deceit and lies and what a fragile frame it makes for the arrogance and unwarranted pride. Anybody remember or know of that phrase? It reminds me too much of DNL. Then another one about building your foundation on sand......another about how the universe shifts and corrects where one assumes a deceitful mask....oh gosh so many...looks like I gotta brush up on my phrases.

I hope the courts hit them and hit them hard. I guess it isnt enough for them to be the laughingstock of the industry -- they gotta be the sued laughingstocks of the industry too! LOL

Very glad to hear about this. The theft of intellectual property, particularly property that involves lengthy and complex development is always deplorable, particularly when the person or organization which stole the property has profited from it without making any effort at all to compensate the developer.

Worse yet, they have attempted to pass it off as their own game engine.

ok , wow people still are invovled int his drama.. just wow .. move on folks.    anyway if pix wins doesnt it actually hurt him i mean sueing D&L is liek sueing a homless person with obviously no money.
