Still gaming ever since Pong.

Like most games some of us tend to go through a few alts before deciding on which one to stay with; This is even after all the reading and research we have done of the characters.

Being a fan of battlemage type of characters I went with a fury for my first toon.(not sure if I will keep him as my main..)  Currently lvl 21 I've already have rolled  and tried out a froglok monk, a barb mystic and now a erudite wizard. I don't mind playing the fury but I'm at a point in the game where he tends to die alot, and that is slowly becoming frustrating. Could also just be the fact that a lvl 21 toon should'nt take on lvl 16 heroics solo.   Anyway that is one reason why I've rolled a few other alts.

So how many did you make before deciding on your "main"?   What was it you decided on?

My main was the second character I rolled.  Both were conceived as Wizards, but the first character got changed to Warlock once the second one became my main.  I rolled a second Wizard because I wanted to betray and have a Qeynos based Dark Elf instead of a high elf. The only reason the warlock is still around is that she is a high level alchemist; I’ll probably never do much with her as a Warlock.

"Don''t take life seriously because you can''t come out of it alive."

- Warren Miller

My first time around (at release) I had pretty much gone through all the healing classes in order to find which one I liked the most, eventually settling down with the Warden. Not at level 70 with all the changes to classes and spells that SOE, I actually found that I genuinely disslike my Warden and it stopped me from playing EQ2 for awhile.

After comming back a short while ago I started going through some other classes to see which I'd like, I went through the conjies, locks/wiz, fighters and eventually ended on the Dirge as my new class. Amazingly enough (I've never been much of a fan of rogue or combat classes) I'm having an absoslutely silly amount of fun with her and it has renewed some enthusiasm for the game.

So far, so good.

And back on topic, i am an altoholic, and i cant seem to find the ONE class for me.
I play with my combat xp off, and it usually takes a lot of time getting to my mid 30s by wich i get a flash of insight i might like some other class better.
Done it with my conjuror but figured i am not much of a pet class type, with my dirge (was so much fun but i wanted to do some damage once in a while), got a gnome monk up to 20 and erased him cause he was so boring to play, and now i am trying out my little fae ranger that seem to be the best fit for me- he is fast as hell, can fly (well glide, but it's the next best thing when you jump off a high cliff), and can dish out some pretty mean damage :)
If the ranger idea fails i still have a gnome illusionist and a wood elf swashbuckler ready at level 10, just waiting to get a chance

i still see my first character paladin as my main (i reated it right at release), but i'm also an altaholic and have lots of different characters at different levels. In last time i have been playing my inquisitor most (our guild needs the inq more often in raids), and he is actually a fun class to play once you get some aa points into the right skills and improve your dps a bit.  The inq was one of my first charcaters too i created him in dez 2004 and did betrayal (at the time when it still was a long painfull camp quest) to be one of the first dwarf inquisitors in game.but i tend to get back to all my alts form time to time and play them.

My 1st character i played is Iksar Necromancer which is my main.  I do have an a Dark Elf Coercer alt as well.

I haven't really experimented with many characters tbh because i enjoy playing both my current main & alt so much

I might give Ranger or a Healer Class ago sometime though.

The first toon has really turned into my main. Took a while for me to get into the Paladin swing of things, since as a newbie I was completely misinformed as to how to use my amends line of skills.

Struggling with hate while tanking was depressing for me, then suddenly, while mentoring with a friend, the lightbulb clicked on and I realized where it had all gone wrong. Since then I find myself really enjoying the class, and if I do need a break I'll switch over to my High Elf Bruiser for a few levels.

Overall I have tried Paladin, Mystic, Templar, Monk which then became my bruiser, Zerker, and Swashbuckler. Still enjoy my Pally more then the others overall though.

My first character, a mystic, became my main and played her to 60.  Honestly, I didn't care for that class very much.  For some reason in every mmo I've played, I tend to stick with my first one and see it all the way through.
