Crazy...I''ll show ya crazy..haha

Ok this may take a bit folks so sit back hold on and hopefully you'll understand how this would work.

I was thinking about the player houseing, its great and all belive me however the apartment style is a bit ....cramped. I was thinking about other ideas from other MMORPG's they may not have succeded but by combineing the ideas and mixing them around may be a good idea. Well for starters what about Guild towns, like in SWG where a cla/guild what ever they called it could build its own personal little village in a empty space. This would add a whiole level of new things for ppl to do. Giveing ppl thier own house and being able to have a place outside of the big cities to do thier crafting and such. Pluss being able to design the layout yourself may be something interesting. However I do see the drawback , it would get cluttered fast altho the fix for that would be that there would be limitations on just how large and where the encampments we'll call them(just because it sounds more fitting to EQ2).

Players in the guild would get to decide and vote on things allowing everyone to feel involved in its construction. Haveing these encampments might be a neat idea. The other thing would be that in each one could be traders, NPC's that bring small wagons or booths to sell things for passing travelers and residents. To make things even more interesting perhaps make certain trader temps that travel between towns cities and encampments holding items that you sell to these traders and allowing those items to be thier inventory so when they reach the next stop others can buy what you have sold.

Just something interesting I didnt go into full detail but let me know what you all think.

I think this idea was discussed early on but it was scrubbed.  SOE didn't want to go the way that other MMO games did with high end housing where it is super expensive and for the most part for the hardcore gamer.  They wanted the high end housing to be accessable by all types of gamers.  They did a good job of creating tier based economics and this includes the housing.  Most people upgrade housing a few times before getting to the big ones.
