aint that difficult to lvl a hunter. within the three days i played this game i already got my human hunter to lvl 13. its a pretty good cake walk actually. first thinking i thought hunters in LOTRO would need pets like in WOW to effectivly lvl, boy was i wrong, think the hunters in this game are a bit stronger than the ones in WOW and i think their range is a bit higher too allowing them to shoot enemies from greater distances and with the no ammo thing going on u never have to worry about running out which is awsome in itself. To get back to ur topic tho, what do u usually have ur hunter doing? Are you questing quite a bit or just like killing everythign u come across? Questing is what im sure ur doing right now cause the rewards i noticed are very rewarding, gives good xp and loot items. Ive done both too actually, between questing and just grind killing. If u do stick to a hunter for a good amount of time they will lvl pretty good. |

I to am a hunter lvl 19 and have noticed if your not willing to commit yourself to at least 2 hours of playing you dont really get anything done I find that lvling is up and down some lvls seem to go really fast and then there are some that just take forever but I am also taking in account that some quest just take a long time on there own. In closing I dont think it is the hunter taking along time to lvl it is the movement of the game and getting the quest done and how long your willing to sit in the game cause you cant just log in for a short period of time and actually get something done.

Hunter is a good DPS class and a great support role, if you go out and do all of your solo quests without a group it can still get a little dicey. as stated before, USE ALL OF YOUR SKILLS AND TRAPS AND STANCES to gain as much as you can in the way of traits, do every kill quest that grants you the 'determination' trait and get your agility up there. If you want to level quickly just find a high level Minstrel and life is cake.

I have a lvl 24 Elf-Hunter. I love the character. But I agree that levelling a hunter can be difficult. It is necessary to use all of your skills to their upmost advantage. And learn when to run. :) I have couple complaints. First, LoTRO did a really good job of protecting enemies that can not get to you for some reason (no path found) or another (blocked view). This protection (which I admit is a good thing for fair play) is a serious drawback for hunters. The advantage of being a hunter is the ability to take out targets from those unique positions. On a ridge for example. Second, LoTRO has view obstruction issues. You target a creature with a skill. The skill begins to count down... and then the creature steps behind a tree for a split second. The skill fizzels and you have just lost 3 vital seconds. Once again, I am okay with not being able to shoot through the tree; however, as a hunter, I believe you should be able to "arm" a skill and track the creature until it is once again in view for an immediate attack. Afterall, what type of hunter would sheath and arrow just because a creature stepped behind a tree? Slight variations in terrain, which should be advantageous to a hunter, wind up being a severe hinderance. I know this would be a very difficult feature to program successfully without giving the hunter an unfair advantage, but... Any comments. |

i would agree, lvl a hunter can be easy, i have a lvl 27 dwarf hunter, but like any other character it takes time. along with that i found having one other person with you increases the speed which you can lvl greatly. In my mind i believe the hunters can also be one of the harder classes to lvl cause most of the npc or quests you complete have you facing multiple opponents and unless you are a high enough lvl this can drag you down fast in a fight. other than that i believe most of it comes from how much effort you put into your character and how well you balance questing and grinding when it comes to getting xp. |

SWG is gone..Fallen Earth is eagerly awaited http://fallenearth.com |
There are traits that reduce induction time. At lower levels hunting with at least one other person,a melee type, will help you a lot..if you remember to let them get the argo first. Hunters are a real powerhouse in Lotro, and very squishy. If solo'n try to take the yellow and orange solo mobs ,or the blue and white mobs that are in groups of 3 or less. After you get use to a hunter, you'll find leveling no problem at all. I took mine,an Elf from 1-50 in 16 days..That's 16 days of play time not a half a month. It was my third char..frist one took 27 days,a minst. |
