Originally posted by Roukan Hmmm, no. Zen Master was indeed implemented to counter hackers and add a little balance in CR1. I don't know where you get that Trojan Horse and Citadel Coder were introduced to combat hacker overpoweredness, they were not designed to add balance, they were designed to add NEW content (something that hasn't been added to MxO in a long time). Here's a description of the trees written by one of the devs back then: "The Trojan Horse is the one off the Hacker branch and that one has got some direct viral attacks but it’s designed to be more survivable against physical combat to get in the middle of opponents. As they attack the Trojan Horse, they end up damaging themselves as the Trojan Horse procs damages or heals to the team members around him. So that’s gonna be a lot of fun. The Citadel Coder is a specialist form of simulacra. It’s designed to not last as long as your normal simulacra but has the ability to do a tremendous amount of damage or other effects. So it’s somebody who will be able to set some kind of tactical trap. I think teams will be able to do hammer and anvil kind of scenarios - a lot of fun stuff like that." I'd still take Zen Master with all its redundancy, or any other new tree for that matter, over some recycled missions or maps. |

First post! Well anyway I like MxO. I like the community...for the most part. I like all the guys in my faction. The small amount of players makes it a bit more personal I think, you get to know everybody better. I like the serialized storyline, it's constant new matierial for RP. I like the interlock system, especially for pvp. Is the content hurting? Yes. Does the game get boring sometimes? Yes. Is it painful to see tons of other MMO's get expansions and sequels galore? Yes. Will it die off in the near future? Probably. But I enjoy the game and will definitely be going down with the ship. Who's comin' with me?!?!

To bad its going to die, ive had the game lying around for over a year never had the chance to try it, wouldnt because Ive been playing other mmorpgs. And now I finnaly have the chance, many many years after its release and its basicly dead and will shut down soon. Not sure I want to bother trying it then if its gonna die next week or in a few months.

Originally posted by Crispin Um dude... if you've read this thread, you'll see that the OP's statement about the game shutting down is more than questionable. This user is full of it and allows one ignorant inaccuracy after another. Keep in mind the improbable eventuality that Kusya's correct, like I do, but don't count on it. If you want to try this game out, go ahead. (edited for minor language improvements) |

I must admit I did not read the whole thread, I was kinda in a hurry and I should never had replied without reading all.
Thanks

Someone just needs to make another Matrix MMORPG. A Matrix-oriented MMORPG should be the "ultimate" MMORPG, hands down. This game should be kicking ass, but instead; it was half-assed.

Yo, Kusya. I heard there was some shit going on that people couldn't log in for days (until now?). Anything to say?

For Zeroone since he has some problems with english.
end of the year-beginning of next year is not august or september. as for the rollback issues what do you expect with no team to test each patch before launch. |

Originally posted by Kusya Well yea, when I wrote that part with the "two months", I hadn't looked at this thread for weeks, so I just thought at that time you had said "in two months", then I looked up and saw it was actually "in a few months", and then saw that "end of the year" in your original post. As you see, this has nothing to do with English in particular, rather reading comprehension and memory. Wow, I can't believe I could just turn my own mistake into a rebuttal of your point. I rule. Actually, I didn't mean the rollback, I meant the servers being inaccessible and stuff. People on the forums were saying "lol we can't enter the game for days now" or something, and I jokingly thought, hey, d00m time maybe? I don't exactly know what to expect from the absence of such a team, I know this is the first time something like this happens. |

All good :)
I think it is the first rollback and I feel sorry for those who lost items and experience. But it is no secret that each update comes with its share of bugs and trouble. In any decent game they have people testing extensively before a release, obviously it is not the case with mxo. But all is not Doom and gloom after all |

Im not going to pretend to know how many subs this game needs to turn a profit but I would assume it must to still be around. MXO closing down probably would not open the doors for a new Matrix MMO. Who would want to risk money on something that has proven itself to fail? Yes I know its the games fault not the IP but the people making those calls probably wont see it that way. Im glad MXO is still going. Its not going strong but for the people that do play it and enjoy it the fact that it still exsists is a good thing. Enjoy it while you can.

Well, I'm a bit sceptical about the "enjoy" part, considering the players' opinions aren't exactly glowing and shining of positivity.
Yes, that's right, most patches released so far had delays and bugs. One time, it was so broken you couldn't even do missions. Now this. |

Why on earth would they play it if they didnt enjoy it? ¬.¬

It's not the first rollback unfortunately. It's too bad MXO doesn't have the staff to pull off patches and updates let alone significantly progress the game. But... Originally posted by SkyJackal Friends, hope for a better tomorrow? A better question is, why don't you play if you enjoy it so much? |

Originally posted by freiheit Hmm, must have happened during Beta (no, not the extended beta lol), or under Monolith. I don't remember any such uproar since I've joined. I dunno, I often remember basically forcing myself to play through horrible bucking (I know it was partially due to my computer and partially due to server demerits, but we're talking about subjective experience anyway) and ugly animation off-setting because I was interested mission contents and similar, and often still noting some things I'd think weren't really optimal. So yea, that you play doesn't mean you really enjoy it. There were moments I enjoyed it, though. And, uh, freiheit, unless you've hired your buddies to /ca cloudwolf and supervise his logging on, how exactly can you know that he doesn't play? I must've forgotten him saying that. And there again you go making moronical assumptions. I mean this nicely - just sit back and ask yourself, maybe if you have to make up stuff to get your point across, your point isn't that good in the first place? Oh wait, that's right, this is about polemics. My bad, sorry. |

Um, when he asked why one would play without enjoying the game, you said "friends?". So yea, friends. Maybe he was pvping and dueling, which we all know doesn't lvl up.... who knows?
Then, you can even play once a week and still "enjoy" it. Actually, I apologize, I shouldn't have dwelled into this discussion at all. None of us knows shit about how much of how often someone else plays unless told by themselves, so I guess I won't start making the same stupid assumptions. Btw, I haven't played for, like, two months now. Except I logged in before the last update to run through the red tinted city, which rocked. But there, you have it. |

It's a rhetorical question. "Hey guys we have to try this MMO out, you like...sit sround a telephone booth and talk about the Matrix!" But at least in somone's mind I'm a NY Yankee and for that, I thank you guys. |
