Anyone?

I'm not gonna buy it before having a sample of what it offers.

Well,

*  You *could* have joined the 'Play the World' free trial event.

*  You *could* borrow the disks and get a 'Buddy Key' from a friend.

*  Your *could* just fork up the $40 instead of trying to get a freebie.

*  The 'Free Trial' is being done with Buddy Keys.   So no announced general trial, and do not expect one for months.

Sorry we won't be seeing you in-game.

Control is an illusion!!!

I would also love to try before I buy and I think it is ashame that they do not offer this option from the get-go.  It is pretty much a standard industry practice nowadays.  Being permanently disabled and constrained by a strict budget not everyone has the $40 to just throw away if they do not like the product.  Either way IMO they are losing customers by not offering a trial because I would really love to play this game and purchase it if I liked it.  Unfortunately there is not an option to do that.

*  You *could* have joined the 'Play the World' free trial event (Open BETA).

*  You *could* borrow the disks and get a 'Buddy Key' from a friend.

*  The 'Free Trial' is being done with Buddy Keys.

*  They already had the FREE trial. You missed it.

Now there is another FREE Trial going on RIGHT NOW, but you need to get a "Buddy Key" and borrow a DVD with the client on it.

So stop complaining. You had a chance to try it with no strings attached and missed it, which means you didn't care enough to follow what was happening with the game. The Free Open BETA was no secret.

Now you still have a chance, but its harder to get and its only for 10 days.

I swear I put it there just a moment ago.....

So you shout at the poor guy because he didn't get in on the 'World Tour' / Open Beta, he perhaps doesn't have any friends and he'd like to try it.

It's not uncommon for MMOs to have a free trial.

Give the guy a break.

Unbelievable!  What prompted that response???  I did read the previous post.  Unfortunately because of my health I am just now able to do something about trying to play this game.

You make many assumptions!  I did nothing to deserve a response like that.  Besides you have no idea what my circumstances are and had no reason to repsond like that.  The ignore function just might get its first workout.  Thanks for your kind and inciteful response to things you have no idea about.  Cannot wait for other people to see what kind of person you are

Hey dudes,

Cheers for the replies. I did sign up for the Open Beta but being in UK I had alot of problems obtaining the client or even creating an account.

I always play on US servers but Turbine redirected me all the time to the European portal lol.

Anyways I am returning to my home country and the proxy won't be an issue hence the qn.

Edit: OT - Are there any designated Oceanic servers for LOTR?

I apologize for over reacting to your query.

Best of luck!

Why the hell should I work? She''ll just spend all my money on shoes anyways!

Successful MMO's don't have free trials until their numbers start to fall. That's actually the standard for free trials. So we will see you in a year or 2 on your free trial.
