Hi,
I'm currently on Oasis server and have been shopping around for a guild to join. But with the way things are set up you really don't have any idea of the guilds history. You only really have a brief summary. I know I could simply message and ask the recruiter but of course the person will only say good things. I've went and looked some guilds up on the forums and looked at there status and other accomplishments, but is there no way to get a history of them? I mean how would I know if the guild I joined won't take advantage of my lack of knowledge of the game? What if I join a guild and no one helps when they list that they do? Also why are many guilds being listed as Exiled? Do I want to avoid these types of guilds or does it matter? |

A lot of guilds have their own website and forums. Usually thats your best bet to get a feel for a guild. Below is a link to the Oasis specic board in the EQ2 forums. This post is all about guild info and includes websites where applicable. http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=243231

You can also hit the guild screen button in game (U by default). When unguilded this will actually bring up a list of recruiting guilds and other info.

If you mean the guilds listed on the EQ2 Station Players website as Exiled... there has been a bug since forum maintenance sometime ago that has listed some guilds as Exiled so you can't really go by that.

@Flem Yup I've done that,(pressed "U") However it lists always the same Guilds with only a brief summery of them. I also recently learned that these same ones, possibly not all are using a "tool" that keeps them listed at all times. I'm not sure if that is good or bad issue, but lack of knowledge on this makes me a bit leery in requesting a joining.
@Tyrlien Ahh ok a bug then. Thanks for that info! Here I thought it was some kind of conspiracy. hehe |

The guild tool in EQ2 "U" doesn't capture all the guilds who are looking to recruit. I'm not exactly sure how it works and I may be wrong in my assumptions, but from what I have seen it tends to list the bigger guilds and when a member of those guilds is online they get listed. It was a good idea that in implementation has not been fair to many smaller guilds. My own guild being a smaller one, we have only seen ourselves on the "U" list once or twice very, very early in the morning when one of our members was on.

In one of the more recent Game Updates they increased the # of guilds that in the list and tried to randomize it more but still if a large guild keeps several players on during they day they rarely get displace. I do see our guild showing more often in the list now. Also I should mention that it is not only the size of the guild but also the # of appointed guild recruiters that impacts the postioning on that list.
