Recently, Managing Editor Jon Wood visited the offices of The Chronicles of Spellborn in The Netherlands. Today, we kick off a series of articles from that trip with an introduction to TCoS and some of the innovative features that are promised from this upcoming MMORPG.
Read the whole article here. Cheers, |

A great article for introducing TCoS to people out there who have not heard of the game yet, anyone who has been on the TCoS forums will already be familiar with most of these concepts already. But a wonderful read all the same... also seems to be gearing up and getting closer to the release. Cant wait.

The more I read about, and see this game, the more it reminds me of that old movie "The Neverending Story." That used to be one of my favorite flicks as a kid, but I sort of forgot about it until recently. Spellborn seems to have intentionally/unintentionally captured the feel of that movie in this game. |

After the first news of this game a few months ago i was excited. It looked like a breath of fresh air into the genre, but the game has slipped off the radar so to speak. and it still concerns me that they don't have a NO publisher yet. BUt I hope that this artical and the upcoming ones can help get some excitement building around this title again.

I am hyped about this game. It does look pretty cool. We'll see. I've been disappointed before (Vanguard *cough*) I have been following this one for a while, and can't wait for beta, as in, can't wait for beta if I get in

i really like this game, it's a break out of the usual mould and the devs seem sincere about breaking the grind.
the skill system looks similar to GW, but i've read it's based on chain-ed combos so that's something different.
looking forward to it!

The only thing that worries me is that they have not stated who will be handling publishing for the US market. I pray it isn't SOE.

Meh, I like the fact that theres no "epic gear" per say. However, I also hate the fact there will be no looting in PVP. To be honest I'll probably try it, but until a game comes out with full loot PVP like old school UO, I doubt I'l feel any excitement at all.

I read something about a Frogster doing the publishing. Maybe that was for EU only though... Anyone know? |

SOE only handles games that are doomed, its like a dolla r store for mmos :) Too bad Matrix is in that group, oh well.
This game looks really great and I think it is definetly worth trying. I know I will be :) Its nice to see people doing something original and different and have them care about their work. Yay, yea, Vanguard will be the poster child for failure for the rest of eternity. Casual cross-game mmorpg guild. Minimum age requirement of 25. Gunbad.com |

I will be playing this bad boy when its released as long as it doesn't pull a vanguard. The fast combat, attractive graphics, digitigrade demon-ish race, and the sigil based upgrades and free armor usage by anyone is right up my alley, and damn its about time an mmo tried something new. I think we've got an actual FUN mmorpg in TCoS, the kind where you want to get home from school or work and play it to get your fix each day because its a game that has truly decimated the grind and enhanced the fun.
I can't wait to get my hands on it. I hope and pray its as good as it sounds, and that if it is, it does well here in the US and in the UK so that the TCoS team will have plenty of cash to keep the game alive and perpetually growing. |

They have different publisher for Italy and the UK IIRC. MMORPG.com's Game/On staff is supposed to be doing weekly podcasts on TCOS for awhile.

This game actually sounds interesting. Something different than your "usual MMORPG." However, the character models are pretty ugly. But that is something a person will have to live with, since that is the art style they are running with.

If you want to see videos of the game, there are some on their site but you should look up youtube too. Most released videos can be found there. Screenshots are best found from ign or right here in mmorpg.com. |
