I honestly feel sorry for this Donna Desborough now since this is obviously not her fault...

lol this game has the best graphics of all mmo's at the moment, I think your computer was not good enough then or you didnt install the ultra high textures ;)

Donna I read your review and it was pretty much spot on.    Well done.  It is rare to find an honest reviewer that writes for an online rag. 

I'm going to have to agree, this review is more of an overview than a re-view. I could've gathered the same basic info from their website. What is lacking is what comes between what we got (a summary) and the ratings. I don't mind seeing an 8 on graphics. Most of these stats seem inflated anyway, so a lower score is fine. But the problem is why. Everyone talks of the fancy-graphics CD, but that does not mean good graphics. Just because the graphics are better than EQ2 or whatever else does not justify a higher rating. Technology increases over time, making such a basic assumption impossible to apply over time. In the end, you can't have a 1-10 scale and still base the rating off the graphics of the last time; all games will end up scoring 10.... off the point. If you feel it's only an 8, tell us why.

why why why. that's what we want. why did you rate it the way it is. that answer isn't in the review, and that's why it lacks.

MMORPG  should propose now 2 reviews of lotro

1° by someone who likes lotro + real review (a lot of details examples etc)
2+ by someone who doesn't like lotro + real review (details examples etc)

Graphics
- 9 for areas specially the shire
- 6 for characters
- 4 for NPC (awful)

Fun
- 6 because most of areas aren't interesting at all + we must kill 24 bears then spiders then  bats etc: 6 for most of all
- lore quest is cool 8

- RP 7 no doubt at all (could give 9 if we could enter in more houses + housing)

- Performance /Lag 5
We can't play in Bree, couldn't play on events, can't play MP with 24 versus 24 it LAGS


- sound 6:
Some musics are awful (thinking about trestlebridge music, or Aragorn's music in PP: we could imagine those musics have been recorded with bontempi organs)

- Service: can't say. Game starts. Maybe 7 for AD/Turbine .
But we'll see in few months.
We can't buy boxes on CM eshop ...  even if we took preorder on CM eshop... (4)

because we only have Eriador, fights aren't nervious, some animations are really bad imo (specially for NPC )
We don't know when turbine will propose Moria, Minas Tirith and Isengard, Rohan , housing etc
Craft isn't interesting at all: too easy + we can't choose (3 )
Areas are really small
There's no high levl content (not enough for 6 months)
This game is cool for sure but there's only 1 maybe 2 months of playing, 1 month if you're HCG
Too easy, no death, no arrows to buy, you can jump from a moutain ^^
No fishes (only 2 /4) on the rivers
You can't dive
There's no housing,
Most of houses are CLOSED

Take it if you don't have MMO and you're waiting for WAR, AOC or something else. Don't take it if you 're looking for rich content and 2 years of gaming. or wait some months (probably in october) and you'll take it for few bucks, probably 25/29€ with 1 free month.

- Lotro needs TOWNS: bree isn't a town ! Lotro needs great cities !

- Lotro needs non fighting classes (not sure my translation is fine ^^)  : minstrel kills ? With songs ? Stupid 0/10
- lotro needs more than 1 MP area (needs 1 more for lelv 20/30)
- lotro needs more high levl content
- Lotro needs more houses opened (this world isn't living at all)
- Lotro needs more "monsters" : we only have bears, flies, cats, spiders, wolves, boars, wargs, bats, yetis, mammuths and some birds ! Yeah yeah we have drakes (OUF)
- Lotro needs housing
- Lotro needs fishing and fishes
- Lotro needs more dungeons
- lotro needs more orcs and goblins and turbine should delete 90% of animals! can't imagine we're in Lotro, imo we''re in a Zoo !

- Lotro needs new AI

So Lotro could be one of the best MMO's
And my score could be 9/10
For the moment , it's only 6,5 because a lot of important things are missing.
