Well, I'll do this but does anyone know about how pricing and so forth will work? Will I have to buy the retail game afterwards or pay 39.95 online to enable the full version? Thanks! Sean |

Hmm.. must be a lot of former WOW players out there that quit before TBC came out... didn't realize there were enough of us to set up a free trial....

Ah so I see that Blizzard is feeling abit "afraid".

More like greedy they just want people's money plain and simple and they'll do anything to get it. They told me if I came back they'd transfer my character for free then when I came back said I'd been misinformed by one of there employees and said I'd have to pay to have the character transfered which I clearly asked about before coming back in the first place so I demanded a refund, but they refused to give me one so in my eyes they'll forever remain a bunch of money monger crooks. It's kinda like when before the game came out they promised these awesome gladiatorial arena battles, but never delivered remotely on that promise until later with BC. Warcraft is nothing, but a easy EQ mimic'd grindfest with a basic lackluster rock paper scissors pvp after thought tossed in. People can defend it all they want, but that's essentially what the game is they took the fun and addictive aspects of EQ made them easy mode to appear appealing to casual players, but turned it into a much worse off grind for the competent players in the end. As for pvp all it is and ever will be is a after thought to blizzard it's not skill based it's rock paper scissors and equipment based. I'd be curious to see what the subscription base is for BC enabled WoW. Just wait till Warhammer is released the subscriber based will shrink quickly at least to a point. Like uo there will always be the few addicts who just can't seem to habit.

I was under the impression outland was all 60-70 content, how is this supposed to work? unless they expect you to get to level 60 within those 10 days.. lol.
Unless they will let you play with your account you canceled a while back?

The reason it keeps growing isnt because of the staggering amount of innovation, but because everyones friend and their mothers play it. I consider myself an average high school senior and atleast 50 people out of 1000 total people in my school play WoW. Most everyone knows what it is. When you mention Warhammer, AoC, DAoC, Vanguard to even the gamers, most of them have no idea what your talking about. They consider themselves MMOers, but, in truth, they're only a bunch of people addicted to WoW. |

Snore, I would rather play Mapelstory than go back to WoW. I quit and got rid of my account with 4 60 toons once burning crusade came out and never looked back. It was a fun game, I think the expansion ruined it. I'm looking forward to Age Of Conan and Warhammer. Seems like all these free trials they are offering is a sign. |

The trial is only for people with accounts who have not already upgraded to the BC content. If you bought BC, tried it, and let your account expire, you cannot use this trial to play for ten days to see if you would like to come back. Which is a pity. I would have liked a chance to explore the world after having a couple of months off, who knows Blizzard, I might have paid to renew my account. Now that option is blocked, well, guess I wont be sending you my money any time soon. One has to wonder how many other people get turned off by this "trial" that isnt really a means to return to the game. Not the end of the world by any means, but really, for a company this big, not the best marketing. Peace now.

This thread made me realize that if any game company releases a demo or a trial for a game they are scared of competition or the game is on its last legs

I love it, how in the world did you not know that Blizzard is owned by Vivendi and double post it no less. Making statements like that shows you that you to lazy to use any of the search engines on the net to back up your statements. The people at Blizzard are realists. If the trial can hook some people who left, then that is more money in their coffers. Not costing them anything to do this except for the time it took some programmers to put together the trial code. Look at Eve, almost all new players start on trials and they are doing quite well with that model, immitating success is not a bad idea. |
