WTS - a clue. cheap.

I do not support stupidity or weakness. Sorry.

can i build and/or buy homes?  how many types?

are there flying mounts?  can i fly them anywhere?

can i buy/build boats?  can i sail it any place that has water?

is there any sort of taming? is it restricted to certain classes? is there a limit on number of pets in any way?  can they be taught tricks?

mounted combat?  flying mounted combat? underwater combat/activities?  if there's flying mounts, are there flying cities/moons/something you can fly to?

i've heard a lot of things this game was supposed to have, so i'm just wondering what all was hype and what's there.

i'd go to the official forums for answers, if there were any.  i'd look on the faq/info on the site, but every time i've gone it's so outdated that i'm pretty sure it's out-of-date.  so i'll ask here.

edited:  i'm being serious/honest here.  picture ultima online, with a real graphics engine and movement.  that's what i'm looking for.  and no, that kingdom reborn thing (from watching their devs talk it up and show what it is) is NOT what i'm looking for, ever.  but i want a game where i can do at least 75% of the things that i could do in UO.

are there flying mounts?  can i fly them anywhere?. I think there are some quest in place don't know about the flying mounts already really being active but honostly can't really care that much thought they lvl 40 or 45 to have one and i'm far and far away from that, no need to hurry

can i buy/build boats?  can i sail it any place that has water? Don't know if you can build them  but the right set of skils and lvl would do so yes, have no experiance yet in sailing these ships but there are many around.

is there any sort of taming? is it restricted to certain classes? is there a limit on number of pets in any way?  can they be taught tricks? Necromancers have abdominals (pet looks abit like Venom "spiderman"), Psiconist can cast any almost equel lvl living things for a few second for aiding him, Rangers can tame also most equel lvl creatures for a period of time and aquire at i thought lvl 16 or 18 a owned pet. Don't know about tricks

mounted combat?  flying mounted combat? underwater combat/activities?  if there's flying mounts, are there flying cities/moons/something you can fly to? some already tried to answer as you already asked them Yes there are floating city's , dunno how much but have seen some, mounted combat is not yet in, but think its on the table to be put in not really sure about that.

i've heard a lot of things this game was supposed to have, so i'm just wondering what all was hype and what's there. Afcourse a great deal was hyped but also a great deal is either already in or still needs to be put in maybe not in that overly "hyped up way" but always remember when a product gets launched the creators of that product will hype it as much they can,( I know i would if it was my product seriously who wouldn't? ) afcourse after the product is released i expect them to be honost about what they have done which can be good and in some case's to much hype did not correctly corresponded to what many people beleived Vanguard would be. I myself began looking at those "hype" text from Brad and Sigil after i already was in the game mostly because i couldn't really believe how upset some people where, sure i read some things when in beta, but most i just read but didn't take to much value to it other then my own experiance when played given game.

So actualy don't think you really looked around but don't matter bro as this might help you out anyway  and as you can see there are many problems both sides but not all problems are by definition problems everyone will face when playing Vanguard, i know i don't face that many but i also know i don't rush in lvl still lvl 15 with my main and i think most of the problems come from the higher lvl's which hopefully when i make it to those lvl they all worked out. If not just time to move on to maybe the next game or other things that still be intrested in Vanguard, who knows

Anyway best would be like always try it out yourself, the abvious get a buddy key or wait for a trail or else if you don't mind or have no trouble spending some subfee get  yourself a month, just be sure to go over those sites and check if your system will do.

Yes you can build houses. No I don't think flying mounts are implemented yet (not really a big deal as the money and skill they require take a while to get and by the time most people are there, I imagine they will be in). It's not as free form sandbox as UO, but face it: you're not gonna find it anytime soon. It's very close and is considered "sandbox" but it isn't UO with a graphics engine.  Boats/Ships are a yes and yes you can sail from the northern most continent to the very bottom of the map. Taming is available to me as a ranger; not sure about other classes. It doesn't last long though.

"mounted combat?  flying mounted combat? underwater combat/activities?  if there's flying mounts, are there flying cities/moons/something you can fly to?"

No, no, yes, and no.

Hope this helps.

um, the only "official" forums there are for installation troubles,  and technical help.  all the sites with information on classes, features, etc, are fansites.

honestly, i'm not seeing a separate vanguard site any more, it's all a part of the sony/station thing, even the link at mmorpg.com goes to the station section for vanguard.  so um, even that faq i talked about, well, isn't there.

see, i have issues with a company not wanting to give me information on THEIR site.  i want something that's 100% reliable, not something heard third/fourth hand and that the company can always go "um that's not what we said/meant" after i've spent a month building a toon on a false foundation. and after clicking on most of the links on the official site, i've learned nothing other than what characters are what levels and some items that some of those characters found.

why is this site so player unfriendly?

Honostly bro i have no idea what it is what you want, did you even check those links i gave, did you check other links provided by my links on those pages? updated information, you can login ask what you want and get answers from Sigil or TSR's really what is it you want, you intrested in the faq try this most things about Vanguard are : http://www.joinvanguard.com/en/ but really click on some links you will get the info if you just look for it and else like i said i honostly don't know what more you want. For me at this moment it seems you are just  fishing to find something what i don't know, maybe some bate and i  fell for it.......  who knows

WTS - a clue. cheap.

I do not support stupidity or weakness. Sorry.

if i'm paying for a game (vanguard) and a service (monthly sub), then i expect the company to whom i'm giving money, to directly answer my questions and supply me with information.

why is there not a updated faq i can reference on the official vanguard site?  why is there not a huge listing of classes / abilities / skills / etc that i can easily find, on the vanguard page?  why aren't there class/profession forums (where people being paid by vanguard could correct wrong assumptions about what powers/classes can/can't do) on the vanguard site? why do i have to go to a fansite to get that sort of information?

if it doesn't exist, which it seems it doesnt, that's all i want to know.

i'm sorry if what i'm asking for doesn't make sense.  but that's me, i kind of like to deal with the devil and not get things fourth-hand.

i don't really care much for the vg drama that's been going on.  i don't want to blow a bunch of money on a buggy beta release, and then pay a monthly fee, when i can't actually get information from the company producing/developing/whatevering the game.

any other game, i can bring up the site (except maybe for station pass games, don't really get much into those) and find out all sorts of game infornation, class forums, etc.

that is what i'm asking for/about in this part of the information i was requesting.  thanks for the other information.  but again, i would love to be able to get it from the horses' mouths.

While I am not a fan of the affiliated system, the dev's are active in those forums and dev trackers are supplied so you can go straight to the source replies if needed.

The term "affiliate" is applied to a branch of the same company, or one "adopted by it." The official information contained in these affiliate sites is exactly that; the sites have also agreed to operate under Sigil guidelines -

Affiliated Sites
Our affiliated sites are recognized fan sites dedicated to Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. These sites have agreed to the guidelines we have established and have proven themselves to be assets to our community.

The link to the affiliated sites is right off the homepage - http://vgplayers.station.sony.com/links.vm

The overview that can be found here - http://vanguard.station.sony.com/ - is as much as a FAQ as you are going to get from Sigil currently without going to the fansites. This is as intended. Like NCSoft regarding L2, the developer's believe discovering "how the game works" is something that should be done in game whilst playing. Not surprising they grew up to be game developer's really is it? That said many arm-chair player/dev's also get a buzz from unlocking these "secrets."

And over time, once these "secrets" are out there, I am sure like NCSoft we will see an Official Library over at the Official Site.

Im not really sure what other answers you want from the dev's. If something isnt mentioned in the Overview - eg your query re mounted combat - then I think you can safely assume by default it isnt part of the game.

As I said at the start of my post I am not a huge fan of the affiliate system, but I am aware this is the old "I'm comfortable with what Im used to and dont really feel inclined to become familiar with a different way of doing something" syndrome kicking in. That part, Im afraid, is my - or our - problem and I dont really see why Sigil have to address it (our $15 is to give us access to play the game, forums are not a requirement for that).

However, I won't rule out that someday they will address the issue of no Official Forums, as Im sure it's led to more people being put off from trying out the game than a number of other reasons we see touted here.

EDIT specifically for your comment "i don't want to blow a bunch of money on a buggy beta release, and then pay a monthly fee, when i can't actually get information from the company producing/developing/whatevering the game."

There are forums for Techinical Issue's, so you won't be stranded if you do have a tech problem.
