yes, that is the problem. and then, they give EVE a 6 for roleplaying . reviewers need to sit down and define some concepts, such as "good", "poor", "average" and so on, and then rate the games and compare individual grades on one game with the rest of games.

it is ok that diferent reviewers give diferent ratings and have different tastes, but there needs to be some guidance.  a 7 cant be a low score on some games, and a high score on others.

Garret, if you were interviewing for a journalists job and laid that review down as an example of your work, you would literally be laughed out of the building.

I hope you can look back at this and realize the many mistakes you made and correct them in the future.  There is no excuse for shoddy journalism.  If you can't look at a game with a jaded eye, you have no business in this profession.

Let's hope your next review will be more objective.

I think thats a bit extreme. While I disagree with the scores he gave to the game, at least he explained what the gameplay was like.

I don't really get this site, everyone is praising the SoF review, despite that it is very shallow on the explenation of the actual gameplay, But when a reviewer DOES explain the gameplay more detailed, but gives too high scores, then he gets slammed to oblivion?

it is not a problem with high scores. the problem is about consistency. a 7 cant be a "good score" in one game and a "low score" in another. when mmorpg.com re-reviewed WoW, it seemed that they had only numbers from 7 above, even when the reviewer said that some parts of the game were really poor or bad designed, the score was never under 7. meanwhile, other games get a 7 for their very best feature getting all kind of praises from the reviewer.
