Well who knows. After K2Network took on "Sword of the New World", what do you suppose? Assuming at the graphic, which looks similar to Wow... |

So now tell me that they moded this game in a year (btw it was in development since 2003 and the first version was released in 2005 - so before the theft!) to a completly different engine? Pretty impressive or, I ask myselve then why they should have gotten the source anyway... ? Kind regards, Currently playing: Tera |

To further back up my arguement.
http://gamemagazine.ph/news/get-ready-for-perfect-world-philippines/ "Perfect World, a game fully conceptualized and developed by Beijing Perfect World Technology, is one of China’s first, original, and full-3D online game. With more than 30 million renminbi (RMB) invested in the three-year project, everything from the graphics, backgrounds, gameplay elements and 3D engine was designed from the ground up. Their efforts paid off when Perfect World won international acclaim and numerous accolades from gaming organizations, including the prestigious Golden Feather Best 3D Online Game for 2005 and Golden Feather Most Original Game for 2005." |

Just that picture here on the site from the game with a giant bird holding a cat holding a guy holding a racoon etc - too much!!! I was dying laughing at that. Maybe it'll be good but that just had me in stiches.

haha, your post is so incredibly flawed that its a waste of time to actually try to get some sense into you. but fine, believe as you will, I'm not going to waste my time on you. just the fact you have to insult me to get your point across says enough about you. I'm not the one taking it personal, I don't have to insult other people to get my point across, unlike you. You clearly have no understanding of what your talking about. Next time you go into debate with me, do some research so you actually have a chance, and while your at it, bring some evidence for your claims.

Originally posted by Rha-ELWell I could also follow your rule of debate ofcourse. Make a bunch of unsupported claims, and make up excuses for counter arguements, when that fails, insult them! all your posts in this thread can be summed up in just a few lines of text. 1: You claim that the creaters of perfect world use stolen software from NCsoft. 2: Evidence to back it up: None 3: End of posts. |

While its possible PW was made from the base code of L2 its just as likely it isn't. Many of the L2 clones use identical art sources.
The trees, animals and terrain textures are generally identical. The difference with PW is there are no such clones. I can attest to that since I was in both games. Not to mention player models are far more flexible and can mimic fairly accurately a real asian face. Hehe didn't quite do so well for american faces but meh, no biggy. As for the content.. Hrmm on par with WoW would be more accurate. While the inter-charecter politics is far more complex. Personally I was more intrested in running my small trading village then getting involved in the pvp. |

For me PW is the first game that can reach a big fun factor for me again. Its has a nice Pvp/GvG and Faction based PvP (much more complex than in WoW - which is a big plus for me). You also advance mostly via quests, there is plenty of customisation and crafting, city building etc.! Also you totally feel the "love to the details" . So no, for me this game has much more over WoW, but surely this is my everyones personal taste... but lets see how it works out if it reaches the western market :) As their main goal is to be the globally market leader with this game I am really curious on how their marketing works... Show me a "RESPECTED" site that talks about this game ok? lol China and the Phillipines 2 of the biggest places where copyright laws really don't exist....you must be kidding me. |

Originally posted by Gameloading And you claim it doesnt evidence to back it up? None Nor do you even have your own opinion on how the similarities and look of this game is so obviously a cloned version of Lineage 2. I guess that escaped your notice too? Funny how it seems you can filter out only things *YOU* only want to see or talk about? You are definitely a charletan if ever I met one. |

Originally posted by Rha-ELMy point was that even the company claims that the whole game was build from the ground up (and honnestly, if it was taken from Lineage 2's source code, the game wouldn't take 3 years to make). you say they are lying and that they, in fact, did use the stolen source code. so now its your turn, show us the evidence. and please, leave your childish insults out this time. It didn't happen untill proven otherwise. The source I posted has a lot more credibility then your speculation, thats for sure. I posted evidence, you didn't. |

Seriously, if you consider similar base code = rip off, then most MMO are a rip off of each other. I mean since many of the stuff in different games work the same. It's so easy to find faults in any MMO out there, whether is L2, WoW, SWG, FFXI, ... etc.. whatever game you can think of, there is something that it has which another game has, is that the same as rip off? To know about Server-Client relationship, you first have to know about what each program offers, and what each engines will let you do... most of the Server have the host software, which runs DIFFERENTLY than the client software. All that it does when comes to server-client relationship is that the client (which is your computer) do any action, the signal is send to the server, and the server process/calculate/move/...etc. After that, the server will send the information back to the client. This is a continuous process. The server does NOT have to run just like the client, it wouldn't make any sense, and a waste of space and memory for server. It all depends on the host software...
All that aside, this game is actually a good one. I myself l plays it, and it's one of those game that I'll play for a while.. Current MMO: Eden Eternal, Divina (TW Ver.), World of Tanks. Past MMO: Way too many (P2P and F2P) |

WTF you didn't post evidence. Evidence would show specific details abou the game. What you showed there is a marketting release that tells you what the game is. Tells you absolutely nothing about this "ground-up" 3d engine that they used, nor what they did in the 3 years to develop the game. Also if this game was so huge, someone somewhere should have written an article or two about its success as well as discussing the engine and the creative process behind it. You know how many sources I found for it? ZIP. NIL. The closest thing that this game resembles and exists? Lineage and Lineage 2 which I can find hundres of articles on in english, korean, chinese and Japanese and probably several other langauges. evidence my ass. |
