From the lore it sounds like there are supposed to awesome quests and epic adevntures! All I have read is just about the PVP aspects of the game and not much about quests! Could someone send a link about the quests and so forth?

Even better
The devs have stated they will have devs (real person) playing monster (example dragon) for the real epic quests. Think of it, you hear rumors of a big dragon attacking a city...hundreds of players are rushing there to become a dragon slayer...this alone will spark hundreds of new quests between players alone. And they have also told us they have a uniq quest system. Dont forget this is a player based world, so what other players do effects the quest you are doing. |

But in DF there is no levels or special items, so a noob can kill a veteran from day one. Just like soldiers in a real war. And the full loot makes the risk very high, you wont just attack without thinking. If you are damaged, you wont heal up in 45 seconds. Its gonna take longer in DF. You even have to eat food to heal. So if you want to be fully healed, dont fight if you dont have to. Remember you dont have to run around and kill mobs to gain levels...you will only fight when you decide or in self defence. And the aligment system wont let player killers into a "noob" town.

Originally posted by daarcoThe single instance mode and alignments plus the world size should help avoid pkers, due to the pvp integration into the world and being skill based it may not be as easy to kill as people think. Once kingdoms are formed that should also provide additional protection, better items will exist and the mechanism by which a so called 'noob' can get a kill willl also work in reverse. He will more likely end up gettiing creamed if he makes a move if he's solo. I think teh key here is that the word PvP is removed from game talk as it does have the good old days feel about it within this game, penalties for aimless killers will be high and the one charachter per game world instance will also not help and the ability to tag individual players as outlaws in cities will also help. ________________________________________________________ |
