I have to agree with you man! I played MU online before and dang! It's so hard to lvl. i have to spend at least a week before leveling up! try that and know for yourself how lucky you are to only kill 30 mobs.

if you are one of 1,200,000 like WOW you don't matter.

But I do't wan't nothing you says.. well
what about back packs that look like animal x?
what about housing?
what about customizabl pets?
what about dye-able armor?
what about x?
what about y?

it doesn't matter because there is 1.1 million guppies that will eat whatever blizzard gives to them
becuase they don't know any better.

Blizzard is 300 pound gorrilla because of all the new people they brought into the game but
it is those same numbers (7 million subscribers x $15.00/month = $105 million per month)
that make them not want to change anything.

You think that the new expansion made the elite armor from the mainland obselete by accident?
no no.. its not. they will now sell 7 million copies @ $50 ($350 million for those keeping track) of
the expansion because if your going to play WOW you need those new LEET items to keep up with
the Wangs next door.

Hey but in the end its your money and your fun.. (i canceled my account last year and won't be back).

So, what if I'm 1 in 1,000 like in Auto Assault?  If I ask, will they bark like a dog?

Seriously, even in a game as small as AA, it is absolutely impossible to please everyone.  In fact, as is evident in every "suggestion" forum I've ever read, game companies would be morons to even respond to the vast majority.  I don't play WoW anymore, haven't for over a year, but the game is somewhat fun, even if the graphs are a bit cartooney for my liking.

Let me put it simply.  If you had 2 million subscribers paying you $15/month, and 6 million paying you $1/month, would you make any changes?  It's obvious they're doing something right (based on the current market of users) or they wouldn't have gross revenues of nearly $40 million/month.

In response to the OP, well, there will always be hatred for the one who's the best.  Let me provide a couple of "real-world" examples:

The Yankees

The Cowboys (when they were good )

The Lakers/Celtics

Dell Computers

U.S.A. (no offense rest of the world, just making  a statement based on economics...GDP)

Why?  Usually, it's just jealousy, and the overriding desire to cheer for the underdog.

This was very well-written and is the truth.  WoW is a lot of fun if you enjoy questing, and a lot of boring if you don't enjoy questing.  The game has almost no grind, and has a huge amount of armor/weapons to choose from.   That is until you get to max level.

I hated WoW for a long time just because of how fast it took off, and because I chose to buy EQ2 on release instead of WoW.  (had more friends playing EQ2 than WoW)

Now finally I tried playing the game about a month ago, and I found that the questing is a lot of fun, the gameplay is easy to pick up and easy to put down.  And the game is very casual.

I haven't reached max level, and I'm sure as soon as I do, I'll get bored quickly, but it's fun right now. :)

why does every one hate wow....

-This is where i would go off on a rant about its linear story, and its unapealing graphics. And id probably say something about its community. but why waste my breat and give my self some wrist disease. its been said 500 times in the previous 20 pages. why say it again. so to answer your question "why does every one hate WoW" see pages 1-20.

i will say this though. WoW's community killed it for me. the ten year olds and the 40 year olds that sit in the local chat and scream and shout about other players being "douche bags" and "newbs or noobs" or "dum assess". then the guys that kick you out of a party because your level 29 and hes looking for level 30's. really whats the difference. its one level. theres hundreds of level. if it were guild wars or sumthing id see the difference. theres only 20 levels so one level makes a difference, a big difference. but one level in WoW? thats retarded.

also. the end game was a joke. i had to say that one. even though its been said hundreds of times before.

have fun,

The short answer, the community is horrible and full of selfish loot mongers. That is all they care about, there isn't anything else in the game that is interesting either. The game is built around loot and loot alone, crafting(lol), lore(lol), RP?

Well said. I enjoy playing WoW with my friends, but I haven't been in a true PUG in about a year, since they suck so bad. It is all about Loot and nothing else anymore.

I play on an RP server (Kirin Tor), and my guild used to do low-level instance runs just to collect gear to hand out to low-level players. It wasn't as a recruitment measure or anything, just trying to give back to the community and build some good will. Anyway, we stopped doing this shortly thereafter when players would innundate us with requests for gear, even when we weren't doing the event. When the event was going on, we'd get players demanding multiple items or just gold, because they only intended to sell what we gave them on the Auction House for cash, anyway.

The game is fine, the community is trash.

Currently playing:
WoW, AO, SWG, and GW on occassion

Sigils answer to everyting... "can you bumpmap that?"

honestly, after forcing myself to play with the wife again, post-bc... this game is just so mind numbingly boring, that i don't think i can last the whole 30 days of my sub.  kill 30 of this times 6 quests, to get to the elite quests, to get to the uber killing quest... o, or maybe i can kill 15warrior/15mage ogres, then get the uber quest to kill 25warrior/25mage ogres.... what the???

boring

boring

boring.

oh look, here's a quest that's different.  jump on this trampoline and somehow click on the bird's nest as you soar 100 feet into the air.  i finally gave up, read that you should get on a fast ride and just jump off the hill (with the slowfall buff still in place from the trampoline).  i watched several other people try it.  after 10-20 tries for like 4 people, i don't see how this quest is actually fun.  it would've been a nice aside/change of pace; but as is, it's just sort of stupid.

all these people saying "oh bc is fun, it's great, it's brought life back into wow".  sure, if all you want to do is level and grind kills and you consider THAT to be fun; then heck yeah! this game is great!

sorry, boring.

WoW's not your thing....

Hum you complain about the grind quests (I assume your talking about the neserwin safari quests) and then when your given a quest that is very different you complain? What do you want?

As to the orge quests, you should of picked up all of then, while killing the orges I completed 2 other quests.

No 1 likes grind quests, but grind quests are the staple of all MMO's, dont like grind dont play MMO's.

Butt kicking for goodness! -Minsc

Not so much hating WoW, but hating what Blizzard is doing with it. I mean all Blizzard seems to care about now is WoW and WoW merchandice, there is nothing but WoW on their minds it seems. Granted it is a big cash cow for them but still, I mean come on I used to think Blizzard was a great company because they made such good games like the Diablo series, the Warcraft RTS games, and Starcraft. Now though all they do is concentrate on WoW I mean where is Starcraft 2? Perhaps a new Diablo (kinda hard to do that I would think since didn't you actually kill Diablo and his brothers for good in 2? Atleast I think the 4 lesser evils are still around)? Or hell how about making a new game world? And what the hell happened to Starcraft: Ghost? I almost believe they let that game die just so they could move all the people working on it to work on WoW.

And what makes me even madder is the fact that it took 2 years for Blizzard to come up with a expansion pack that really didn't add awhole lot to the game. I mean other MMOs release expansions in 6 months that come with nearly as much content as TBC. At 2 yrs I would of liked to see more then 2 races added (would of liked to see Goblins turned into a playable race to compete against gnomes), a third faction (not sure where it would stand, probably just a neutral faction. Would of liked that to be composed of Goblins, BE, Draenie and either just keep it as only a 3 member faction or add some other race if they could...like maybe the Panderians :)) which would then allow for 3 way BGs and maybe even add a new class or 2 (I don't like how Blizzard now made it where both factions have all the classes, it gives no incentive to try the other faction other then to just "try it out").

In the end I its Blizzard I'm starting to hate, not the game.
