I hope that doesn't mean its Hidden World of Crouching Warcraft.

No thanks. I've had my share of kids yelling chuck norris jokes into trade chat. I support the emulation of video games. |

I played the closed beta. It is just your typical click-to-move grindfest. Good graphics and great character system, but not much else.

I thought they ditched this game? huh... anyway, I agree, the graphics were nice, but I am sure thats becuase they spent most of thier time there, instead of improving the engine... I don't know what the engine is, but its the same one that is used in almost all of the Korean gaming interests. All of CodeMasters games use it, and the one other game that I beta-ed from the region earlier this year. And honestly, I think the interface is boring and not interactive enough. I do like the martial arts skills system in this game, slightly unique from other games in this class, but still... I got bored fast.
Cheers! |

More like "RFO meets Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!" , gameplay is nothing like WoW. This is a Korean style MMO, grind xp, grind skills, grind skills, grind skills...... the martial arts animations are excellent.

What does it matter the Beta is over and the servers were closed if I am not mistaken... at least thats what the game says when I try to load it... been closed since the 22nd.

The confusion is that there were two licenced distributors for english versions of 9 Dragons. Codemasters in the UK and Acclaim in the Americas. There were two seperate game clients, forums, websites, and game servers. Codemasters backed out of the licencing deal. Acclaim now has distribution rights for UK and Americas. Now that you are caught up on the liscencing crap... you can play the chinese kung-fu based f2p asian grindfest mmo. Yes, it is similar to any other asian f2p MMO out there. Grindaholics only apply. |

Not Codemasters - the distributor for the european version was "Persistant Worlds" and they ceased trading at january the 22nd and did cut off the servers and the forums with no prior notice at all.
Codemasters is the company behind the euro version of LOTRO. ---- The game itself is fun until about level 36 (out of 216) after that XP-Gain is so smal that it is not even halfway enjoyable anymore. |

Loll, what a joke Persistent Worlds was.. Closed 9 Dragons and Carpe Diem with no advance warning to their paying players. Whatever name they changed themselves to, I'm sure they'll drown again. Like everyone else said, this is full tilt grindfest -no depth but pretty ..pretty boring.
