Not only should you pay a fee but you should have to provide proof of identity with a credit card. That way when they ban people for hacking, cheeting or improper behaviour they could charge an administrative fine to their acount

It should also ban their card from being used to activate an account again...

Most of the people in the "I want to play for free" category tend to be between the ages of 10-16...

I agree with the replies however... And on top of that, each account should be placed under a different name, and no two accounts should be under the same billing information in my opinion.

This will stop those who wish to get multiple accounts in order to circumvent the SCS system.

Game? Quality? Right now there's no game, so using the "game's quality" as an argument to charge the players is not going to fly. At least wait until the game's launched to talk about quality ot the lack of it.

Second - do you even own a credit card? If so, do you make your personal info public everytime a company/website require? Something like: this is me and this is my credit card info? Lol! How many times a month your toon gets hacked? I'm sorry, but this kind of info is not to be given lightly. Further more, if you'd played more P2P games then maybe you knew those games allow alternative payment methods, such as PayPal, because not everybody owns a credit card, or some people simply don't trust their security systems enough in order to use their credit cards.

Im willing to pay 30 dollars a month for darkfall if they really do hold up to everything they say (For one i know it wouldnt be 30 a month and second I really do have high high hopes for this game) they have made is in.

Free server would be good if it was a Transfer your character to a gladiater stadium wher eyou and people from other servers could fight ffa style, this would basicaly bea  shoot em up gallery where you go for rank, no spending points, money or items are aquired other than your basic needs, its just for a shoot em up fest.
