I think the choices were EVE and WoW? Not to say WoW should win but certainly it's in a whole other class than EVE. I think anyone who's really played EVE in addition to other mmo's would be hard pressed to disagree that EVE PVE ranks among the worst ever. I'm not sure it's really a suprise since EVE is basically the only game telling their players to stack the polls on their front page. Pvp? Yes, it's pretty decent...but PVE?? You have to be kidding... bring on the fanbois...

I'm no fan of EVE by anymeans though I do perfer Player V enviroment more than enemy so it won there unfourtantly.... granted there are better PvE in both catagories compared to EvE. you do have a point though EvE does have very bad Player vs Enemy though.

I always thought PVE meant player vs environment, never even heard of player vs enemy actually. I'd just call that pvp. Venge Sunsoar You know, in ancient Egypt. One of the hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids actually says 'I am upset as my heir will ruin my kingdom' or something to that affect. This is 5000BC stuff and you know what? Nothing has changed. :P

I played EVE for long time, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I do think this is slightly ridiculous. I'm not trashing EVE players, I had fun when I was there, but EVE players need to understand that it is a niche game. It always has been and always will be. No clue what's behind this kind of rabid fanboi-ism, but it seems like a lot of EVE players feel like they have to validate the game, like they have to prove something. Hevens Forbid, do you mean people who actually enjoy the game, enjoy it enought to vote for it ? And Pointing out to the fanbase that they recieved nominations is bad, because ? Did you ever here about that politician who became Prime Minister, after not advertising himself ? OF COURSE YOU FRIGIN DIDNT !! Dont blame 1 company for giving a shit about their game enough to stand up for it. Get a life, and let the votes stand for them selves, instead of having a little bitch every time they dont come out the way you expected. I find it very interesting that the main thing people bring up about EVE online is its 'extremely small' playerbase, tghen in the next breathe accuse this 'small' playerbase of coming to one of the more popular MMO forums and rigging it ? Cake and eat it much ? Yes i play EVE, i have also played in my life, UO, MXO, SB, SL, AO, AA, RV, SWG, WW2O, Planetside, SRO, Martial Heros, DAoC, and in conjunction with EVE, i also currently play FFXI, and WoW. But i will admit, i didnt vote for EVE PvE, WoW got my vote as i dont have a 60 yet, and the 1-59 experience is pretty much unsurpassed as far as i can tell. I did vote for EVE in every other relevant category though, and if anyone has a problem with that, they can bring it up and i will logically defend any argument put against EVE. Nasica

I find it offensive that people have to invalidate this game by called it niche. Yes it is niche, does that make it bad ? No Does that make it in-elligable for rewards ? Think of stanly kubric (sp) 2001: A Space odessy A Clockwork Orange Full Metal Jacket The Shining All those movies won awards and acclaim, yet most of them would be DEFINATLY niche. This does not make them bad movies, it makes them Niche movies...... QUALITY niche movies (lets not bring up any other Kubrix movies though, alhtough they could be counted as niche as well) I would even go as far to say that 2001 is the best sci-fi ever made, and yes i am well aware more people watch star wars/trek (lets not start THAT argument). Opinions are like assholes though, everyones got one, and everyone elses stink

All I'm asking for is someone to come here and explain why they think EVE deserves best pve. I voted for it in most other categories too, it's a great game and I loved the pvp, but I would like to see someone make a logical argument about why it should win in this particular category. I don't think voting is rigged or anything, but I do think EVE players are very passionate about the game, more so than many other mmo's, and that may translate into unusual circumstances on this site. Like I said, someone explain why they think EVE's pve is the best of the best and I'll gladly listen. Which FF Character Are You? I am an eve player, and i have to agree that PVE in eve sucks. But there are some that play eve purely to PVE, and get pretty pissed off when you introduce them (violently) to the fun that can be had in PVP :D I can understand why people want to mine (the most boring thing possible in eve), but not why they want to PVE. For me, i would rather mine than PVE, but i would only ever do either for a quick cash injection, and PVE is easyer for that. But i am guilty of voting for eve to win the PVE award. This is only because i voted in the finals, and it was between EVE and WoW. WoW is such a disgusting excuse of a MMO that couldnt vote for it.

Can you please explain to me why people playing the game, voting for what THEY THINK is the best PvE, after being shown a way to showcase this niche game is a problem ? If WoW did the same things on their forums and ended up winning all categories would you still say how rigged it was ? If all other MMO companies could be bothered to take notice of their own game, and actually try to activly bring it to the population, just like CCP have done, would that be a problem ? As i said in my previous post, did you hear about that Prime Minister who got elected after not campaigning ? NO YOU DIDNT, BECAUSE THEY DONT EXSIST. EVE makes 1 post on their own private boards, and you scream setup, WoW, spend MILLIONS per year on advertising, market research and other related crap, and even with their 7mil player base can not beat the 'niche' game. Let me cliche for you "they are to busy playing the game to vote/check site/wank" I play EVE and WOW quite a lot, i still find time in my hectic gaming schedual to alt-tab out and click some radial buttons for 2 minutes. But hey.... thats how much i care about EVE, its my favorite game....... I wonder why that is ? Perhaps im just an over-zealous fanboi ? Or MAYBE, just MAYBE, i agree with the developers, and i do think its a game worth voting for.

Hmmm I wonder what would happen if all the MMO companies had thier players vote for the game that they like to play? O wait there is a poll like that, its called subscription numbers? WoW got 7 million votes, go figure. Here's a wild thought. Maybe the developers should be spending more time improving thier game instead of spending so much time fooling people with polling? Maybe then they could actually get more people to play them. But I suppose thats too much to ask.

Newsflash: Eve has lead the game ratings consistanly for as long as I can remember. do you really think someone who plays eve, saga of ryzom, guild wars is going to vote for WoW as having the best PvE? WoW which isnt even in the top 10 anymore readers choice, just like the game ratings on this site
